In the cold snap last week I think the water jet pipe to the rear washer (fabia style) has come adrift somewhere. Have been getting a pathetic trickle on to the rearscreen and have now realised why the boot carpet is damp and smelly :doh:

Each time I squirted it washer fluid has obviously leaked down into the boot.

Assuming the pipe is half on/ half off where it joins the wiper/nozzle inside the rear tailgate, or there is an issue with the brass connector, how on earth do you get the trim off to get at it and fix it?????? Recent threads on this topic are not entirely clear other than it's bast*rd difficult to do.

Alternatively are there other points of weakness in the pipe that should be traced and checked first before attempting trim removal?

Search hasn't come up with a defintive answer so any ideas gratefully recieved.

happend to me last week mate it could of come of in the boot .if you look into the boot on left hand side next to the intera light you will see 2 screws undo them and the trim can be pulled forward a little put your hand up inside and you will feel the pipe just push it back on did mine in about 10 mins just dont pull the trim to hard
 
Thanks Dan & DJP. I had found thread b) but my search didn't reveal a). That makes it sound even more tricky to do it without breaking clips/trim/fingers!!!!!!

Looks as if I should try in the side panel by the interior light first before even thinking about tackling the tailgate. Wish me luck ;)
 
what I did to establish where my leak was:

1) firstly if its brass pipe your washer jet will more than likely be moving with the wiper arm.
2) open the boot, squirt the rear washer jet...go and start to close the boot lid...if loads of water comes out by the boot lock as u shut it....thats where ur leak is.
3) failing that have a good feel round your boot to see where its wet.

my only tips for removing are...take the rear clusters out....see if u can prize the metal clips free...and pull very hard much harder than you would consider!

Found the leak in the L shaped connection in the location suggested by Dan boy. Took all the trim off. Three screws in total including one under the left hand rear seatback (push it forward).
This panel unclips relatively easily so you can see the pipe and then gaffer tape it up good and proper once reinserted.

Just need to air the boot a bit longer and then all sorted.

Just to add to this....

I had this problem last year but my LCR was under warranty so I had Seat take care of it - they fitted a modification kit to the weak link which should stop it happening again!

If you're out of warranty then it may still be worth speaking to your dealer to see if they can supply this part for you.

I've got this one to look into tomorrow. Noticed for the last week or so that i have bugger all water coming out of my washer. Ironically, happened day or so after service at Seat. When they called me to "check everything was ok" I asked them about it, of course they wanted to "book it in", they said it takes about half an hour. Will see how many bits of trim i break tomorrow!
 
This has happened to me a couple of times. I hardly use my rear wiper so i completely removed it and plugged the hole up in the rear window with a rubber bung. Looks nice and smooth now.
 
I had the same problem.

The L shaped connecter had just popped out. You could tell it was the problem due to the condensation and strong smell of washer fuild in the boot.

I sealed it with silicon and electrical taped it up.
 
can anyone help me as well....

My rear wiper doesn't work. I knew about the boot trim as i had the problem before and i fixed it. This time it had happened again fixed it again thought that would be it but...

I now have a leak near the front passenger footwell leaking out by the wheel arch. I think i found the thread previous to where/how to get to this connection but i cannot find the thread

So can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to fix the issue with it leaking by the front arch??

how weird. I had this also last week.

I found it to be leaking in both the boot light area and where it connects to the wiper mech in the boot.

The bootlid cover is just a case of pull and be carefull not to rip the clip mounts of the cover. Unfortunately i did the latter.
 
Just finished putting the pipe that goes on to the rear wash jet back on.

Tooke 30mins, resulted in three cuts/grazes, 2 broken clips and now a 3mm gap between the plastic pillar and rear boot lining.

Absolute farce. Why the hell Seat didn't just use half a dozen screw to hold it on istead of all those shitty clips is beyond me.

AAAAAHHHH. BTW the pipe took all of 5 secs to fix once i eventually got the boot lining of. took another 20mins trying to get it back on.

Tip - dont try and do this in the dark with a torch cos you will need a minimum of three hands.
 
getting off is scary because of not wanting to break it through pulling too hard..putting back on is annoying, because your certain the clips are lined up but the buggers just wont go in!!
 
If mine is leaking from the rear wheel arch what should i rip apart lol ? Been not working for a while and had a look just now to find water trickling by my left rear wheel at the bumper. Nightmare?

Washer now working. HAd to connect both bits back under rear left panel and boot lid. Glad to say there was no snapped clips and all is good.
 
grrrrr mines just done this the washer still works but noticed in the boot a slight trickle on the wheel arch carpet.
 
If thats the case then you should be ok, it's easy enough to get into the panel - 3 screws but watch your boot light doesn't snap, i would take it out. The boot lid is murder compared, need the patience of a saint.
 
just had a look at mine it seems to be fine on the boot lid. the jet still works just harldy any pressure. pulled the boot rear side off and seems a little dame but no sign where it leaks there is a white 90' connector that looked a little loose so i pushed that and it clipped back in. i looked under my back seat nad it appeared to have dribbled under there and dried out itself. the seats are fine nothing ruined. the fingers crossed this has worked.
