My rear washer l-plug has been leaking for a while and I've been too busy (or is that lazy lol) to fix it. After searching about on here I found a couple of here & here that helped me fix the problem.

So of course you resolve one issue and another appears. There's now a leak from the actual rear washer motor that results in water running down through the boot-lid latch and into the main boot latch and out the bottom into the boot and then down to the very lowest part of the boot and out through the hole (where the spare tyre sits).

I found this thread which says: "the wiper motor squirty bit has corroded and sends water down through the boot lock every time I used it. New washer motor for the car, methinks."

So what is my best course of action here? To try and take off the boot-lid trim (very difficult job I've read) and see if I can see what the problem is and try to fix it?

Has anyone had this issue and if so what did you do?

btw I'm likely to be about a wee bit more as the old girl has a number of issues I need to try and fix... bad me for leaving it so long.

TIA

LCR Rear washer leak into boot? Where's the connector?

happy new year guys!

can I please have an answer or a picture as to where the connection is for the rear wash wipe in the boot on an LCR?

mine has not been squirting any washer fluid onto the rear screen for a couple of weeks but I'm sure it was running out somewhere as I could hear it... and it turns out when I opened the boot the left side was wet and washer fluid has run down from somewhere! :(

before I take it all apart, is it pretty straight forward where the connector is? hoping it's just popped off where we had -10 temps and it froze but I may have tried to use it!

cheers

If it's the side connection, then you need to remove the parcel tray, then fold the rear passenger seat forward and there's a single philips screw behind it. Once that screw's out, that whole side panel (where the boot light is) pulls off and you can see the join (or lack of!).

Nice one, I think it must be that then. It's purely on the left side of the boot where it's run down no where else by the look of it. Hope it's an easy fix..

Cheers, that's gotta be the one then. I was thinking about maybe securing it better, but if it might cause more good than bad I'll leave it and just pop it back on for now.

I'm going to attempt to fix this tomorrow as that's when I'll be washing and hoovering the car at long last!

Thanks again for your help mate.

Such a common fault, whats up with Seat's design team?
So many little problems! I have this one too.

Annoying isn't it? Stupid little problems like this irritate me... Especially in winter when you actually could do with the rear wash wipe working!

Still, in about 12hrs I will be sorting this out!

I had to do this yesterday. As above there's a screw below the top of the seatbelt on the rear passenger side seat but there's also two by the boot light. Once these are all removed then pull the bottom of the trim panel away and upwards from the passenger-side wall of the boot. It clips into the trim around the opening of the boot from there.

Here's a pic from Pabs' guide in the Info section on how to fit a rear strut brace. You can see the little black plastic elbow connecting two small white hoses. Mine almost threw me, it looked like it was OK and didn't seem to be very loose but when I pushed both hoses back onto the elbow one of them moved a fair bit.

Net result, my rear washer now almost reaches the bootlid spoiler, it's never done that since I got the car :)

glad ive seen this as my rear washer stopped working in the cold weather i have had the tailgate trim off but all ok there so will try this one tomorrow

Spot on mate..

Successfully fixed mine earlier, nice easy fix! 3 screws and simply reconnect the tube to the connector.

I've got exactly the same result as you now aswell, the jet is nearly hitting the rear spoiler! Job well done.. :)

Mine done the same thing after the last cold spell. Its handy enough fixed though. 2 screws out of the washer bottle and pull the black plug type thingy out of the side of it and wiggle it out. I took the diesel filter (i think thats what it is anyway) out of mine too to allow a bit more room

Just loosen the clamp on the filter and move it out of the way, you dont need to disconnect it completely.
