basically before i lower my car if like to know how low i can go on the back before the wheel starts going forward? (or at least noticeably forward) anyone got any ideas?

not sure i agree with you , slamming it for sure pushes it far forward into the rear door , leaving a huge gap at the back off it , looks gash
Mines around 50 ish mm lower than standard on coilovers, wheel has pushed forward a fair amount but it doesnt bother me or many other people, benefits far outweigh the rear wheel moving forward a bit IMO.
If anything i think when twinned with a decent set of spacers it makes the rear look more squat... or phat as the young uns would say! lol

Funny you say that, i looked at min the other day (cupra 180) its dumped on 18s the tyre on the backs is inside the arches, i thought they sat forward a tad but thought it was just an illusion !
handling wise / a lil show
Don't go a lot lower than stock then. Have a read of Doctor Gonzo's RR thread on the last couple of pages, he's just raised his a tad and found his handling improved, he wasn't really low to start with.
If you drop it too much then there isn't enough travel left in the suspension, you'll find that coping with bumps becomes a real issue, particularly in bends.
Wull covered a lot of suspension details/mods on some of his threads, iirc the drop was 20-25mm from stock to keep the handling good.
Too low and you begin to encounter issues with bump steer and the car's centre of gravity will rise, messing up the handling.
Then again if your driving style is low and slow, you're not bothered about how it handles

I'm 99% sure you can get a washer/plate for the rear axle to push the whole lot back when lowered.
agree with the above. I was at 35mm and it just started to be noticable but to the trained eye I would add. I'd say 25mm you wouldn't likely notice any great degree of change on stock stance.

20-25mm , stock LEON or stock LCR ride height?
yeh heard about that , saw it on some golf site , however im pretty sure i wouldnt being going so low to need them as the plate is usally for people slammed
25mm is stock on a LCR tho?
Mine is pretty low and has been dropped once before, this was the 2nd time and no change in handling. Also no rubbing. Running AP coilovers.
no change in handling ? o.. so really i shouldnt actually drop then , LCR ride height is already at the best so to say?
Mine was very high standard and felt like it was rolling around too much. Had coilovers fitted but not too low and it felt great with much less roll. Lowered it again some more to get a flusher look all round and it feels just as good.

tbh mine feels a bit roll..ie (tbf fitting the arbs to me didnt change much :|)

To reduce roll as much as possible on an LCR you need:
Coilovers wound down.
Front and Rear ARBs on stiff setting.
Front upper strut brace, rear brace also.
Fully polybush the car underneath.
That will be night and day over standard.
