Its a trek but Perrys of Aylesbury have been very good. I've heard good things about Lancaster in Milton Keynes. I would avoid Letchworth Autoway at all costs. My wife had a 2006 Altea which had all sorts of problems, the service manager (not sure if he's still there, maybe a little unfair to name him) was an absolute asshole!! He would lie to get you off the phone or out the dealership and had no customer service skills whatsoever. I heard many customers arguing with him.

Looking like I'll have a choice of two without too much of a hike, either Stoneacre Peterborouh or Lancaster Milton Keynes.

To be honest the standard of aftersales service has put me off replacing with another Seat once the pcp is up, shame really as I think it's a cracking car, and it's ticked all the boxes just appalling dealer service, which I surprised that VW allow under their name.

Couldnt agree more Mick. Theres a cracking independent specialist near Finedon (Richards) for servicing but its always easier to see a dealer when warranty work and snagging is concerned.

I think i'll be taking mine to Lancaster, in MK.

Mines on a PCP so I have to have a Seat Dealer service, I'm leaning towards MK as I could earn some Brownie points and take SWMBO shopping in MK for the day while it's in:D.

Keep us posted about their service

Will do. I'll be doing the same, probs dropping mine off on a Saturday might take the kids to Woburn. Can't stand Centre MK on a Saturday, far too busy.

So now Im pretty much f'ing furious. The collective response from Lanaster in MK and Seat UK was that there can't be any problem with my ST as 3 Hunter alignments all show the car to be within spec.

So why is my steering wheel always pointing left, even when i'm going around a slight right bend on a motorway?

Why does the car always via off to the left, regardless of wind or camber?

Why am I going through NSF tyres at a rate of one every 5-7k miles?

Why is there overspray on various parts of the car?

They don't know and seemingly cant be bothered to investigate but I can apparently (at my own cost) go to Lancaster and have (a 4th) wheel alignment done. Then I need to advise them how I would like the matter investigated if the alignment checks out? As that's the only thing they can do to investigate. i dont know perhaps take the car for a drive for yourselves? How about get it on a ramp and inspect the suspension and steering components?

I'm still waiting for a call back to find out how the matter will be progressed (probably a wrong chice of word there)

I've just booked the car in to a highly reputable VAG specialist who are going to investigate the problem, they've already speculated that there must an issue for several Hunter alignments to be spot on and the steering wheel to be out. They are charging a max of £50 so thats cheaper than another alignment check and the fuel to take the car to MK.

So £20+K a car thats only one year old and still in warranty and I'm having to go outside the dealer network to have the problem satisfactorily investigated. If theres a major problem then I'll be on to trading standards and seeing if Auto Express are interested in running the story.

I'm absolutely livid!!!

I only went to Stoneacre for routine service. In fairness, they did everything they said they would, and charged me what they said they would.

So I can't really fault them, and also can't really big them up - as basically, they did everything I'd expect!
