Hi guys and girls

1st post so be gentle with me. I'm looking at buying an Ibiza 2002 Sport. Its in the bright red. I'm just worried about the paint fading over time. I had a mate who had a Rover in a similar shade and the bonnet ended up nearly orange after a few years. Is this likely to happen on the Seat?

probably. Most red's fade, and most Red SEAT's do eventually too

looking after them helps though.

polishing them every other month should help keep its colours. Dont think it would be as bad as a rover cause rovers were just plain cack cars lol.

Na serious now polishing it and keeping it out of direct sunlight will keep it looking fresh. How long do you plan on keeping the car?

it wont fade if washed every week or so and polished and wax every few months

Polishing shouldn't make any difference - keeping it under a good layer of quality wax is the key - the waxes contain UV filters that protect the colour ;)

thanks for the advice, sounds like a bit of tlc should do it fine.

i plan on keeping the car for about 4 years.

i have a red mk2, no problems with fading and i wash every week or 2 and polish about every month or 2

still looks great when polished up right as well:)

keep telling yourselfs that red beezer boys

you say reds the fastest colour but when it goes pink then what is it ;)

as said with tlc will be fine

red does look lush, but imo they're too common...hence the yellow! only seen 1 like mine near my area and that was down the m2! lol

Oi, less of it smarty pants! Its not pink, its lightish red :D

Anyway, red is fastest, you should have got red, would have made 334bhp on the rollers then :p

every little helps rash ;) the laquar helps to keep the paint its rightful colour and with mine is coming off wtf?? (in places) is this under warranty? mine gets a wash when i have time and a polish when i have time (did it earlyer and came out like a mirror) ;)
