hi guys just a quick thing to ask when ever i start the car from cold i get 3 beeps and a flashing red liight it has done this sence i got the car in jan 06 but did not think anything of it as the bloke at the garage i get if from said it was normal he said it was just telling me the car was cold i had to put it in a garage last week for a couple of days and when i picked it up the bloke said what is that beeping i said it ment to do it but am not to sure think the garage i got it from just told me anything can someone help

That is not normal so we can assume it wasn't a Seat garage you bought it from, and that they had big windows.

What is the light/picture which flashes? Compare it to the images in the manual or describe it.

It might be low brake/power steering fluid level or some sort of low fluid level warning. Probably very simple to sort.

The sensor is £20. GET ONE. Look at the sepherical bottle at the back of the engine.

if left and its not the sensor....your engine could over heat.
if left and it is the sensor....you'll never have a correct temp reading...and its also been known to reduce power cos the ecu thinks its over heating. plus it'll probably beep all the time and piss you off

monitor your coolant levels, maybe top it up with water, if its fine then its probably the sensor, theres one in the bottle, you cannot remove this, just have to replace the bottle, then theres another sensor on the side of the engine in the coolant hose

if you had vagcom, you could check the readings from each sensor

Yeah it's probably the sensor, mine does this and i run it on vag com last night and although it's not showing on my dash vag com said the sensor is f***ed. Or will be soon. Ian (cupra power just cleared it for me and i'll be getting one soon. Aparently it's a very common fault. Do you let it warm up before booting it???

yer i do i remember booting it once from cold and it seemed to not let the turbo boost that high is there some sort of safety thing so you cant hert the turbo from cold or is that not normal

do you no of anyone in my area that i could take out in it to see what they think if it feels normal because thinking of selling as seem really slow to when i first got it but if it like that because some thing is wrong and needs fixing to get it back to normal i will keep it

might help if you actually put what area you live in? just a little :)

and if its as drastic as that it might even be worth driving a fair few miles to a meet and get someone with vag com that knows what theyre doing to run some tests with you

standard these cars aint the best, but they far from slow (ofcourse that relative though)
