Reliability?

I had two choices,
Either I swap to coilovers that I could use on the track and on the road with adjustable dampners.
Or Changed cars.

I now have an LCR

Basically including the service, new tyres, new brakes "Discs and Pads" and other little bits and bobs it was going to cost me nearly £1200 not including about a £900 budget for suspension.

So I swapped the car, but I REALLY wish I hand't.
I miss her so much

again i can only really echo what has been said above.

had 3 mk4 ibiza's

1.2 = great little car, few minor little issue (ie rear wiper) really miss it now (had it 9mnths)

1.4 sport 100 = had from new no issues at all apart from, rear wiper and steering wheel remote control (had it 7mnths)

1.9tdi FR (facelift) = lets see, bushes, suspension, bearings, rear wiper, rear brake corroding after 40k and egr. Many other little niggles which took 5 mins to fix but all the rest happened within in the first 4months of buying her and was really annoying and expensive.

since then no issue's *touchwood* and its mapped with other mods, I love this car and wont be changing any time soon (now had it just shy of 2yrs)

next car will be a facelift cupra 1.8T MK4 when i can afford the fuel and insurance

Coilovers improve the ride loads.

There is no trully unreliable car or reliable car. IT comes down to pick of the draw when it was built and how its treated through its life time. I had a clio and so many people say "oooo french car crap reliability then?". It did a 109,000k and had very little go wrong.

The suspension on the Ibizia is funny. I clipped a curb parking. The thing was about 2cm high but it sounded like I hit a wall . Got out thinking crap what have I done then saw it and though "was that it".

I have had my 2003 Ibiza 130TDi sport for nearly 6 years now. Currently on 89K

I put cupra front wishbone bushes in to it 40K ago.

Apart from a regular diet of service parts, brake discs & pads and tyres

It has not needed anything else doing to it

Yeah it all depends on how confident you are at giving things a go, for instant when little niggles like the rear washer comes unplugged and small electrical issues. I had one turbo go but seat replaced it out of warranty as a good will gesture, but that was probably caused by the previous owner racing it about on cold! Other than that and small niggles mine has been great, 50mpg and plenty of power when i need it .

Had mine a year and done 17k in it its a 2008 fr tdi. It's had all the front suspension done under warranty inc upgrading to cupra bushes which I only noticed when it flew through its mot last week . Only other issue was passenger front door lock again done under warranty without any arguement or hassle... best around car I've had imo. Suspension ain't too bad you just get used to avoiding bomb craters in the road lol
