You also need to consider what happens if after a few months, the car starts to play up because of the map. Are they going to want to know you?
And just how much time have they put in to developing the map? Where as the CC, Revo and other well know maps have hours and upon hours spent on them being developed for the VAG range and are proven maps for reliabilaty and performance.

If it looks too good to be true.... it probably is.

Tuning car ECU's is a fine art that needs a lot of experience. Lesser-skilled turners may simply whack up each value to squeeze the most power and torque out of it they can, with little regard for longevity or driveability. Whereas experienced tuners will find the safest balance between improved performance and longevity.

Plus, as Ken says, you have no idea what the customer service is like should there be a problem. I'm not sure I'd want to find out the hard way that it's not so good.

I wouldn't touch it with your bargepole....

some may say lala land....
they can't even spell Nissan, and seeing as the I, A & N are not near each other on keyboard - big worry
and if you visit the web site, under application list off OBDTuning it doesn't list cupra, cupra r or cupra tdi

your choice fella, but i would stay away and use those more well known

I think the words "cheap" and "remap" are two that should never be put together.

Im thinking of getting mines remapped but im sticking with some with good rep like P torque.

Im not that rich to blow money that i know wont last!

Good rep are companies like Jabba/Revo/CC/APR.

Never heard of P-torque personally.

I would stick to 1 of the reputable vag tuners and not just any old tuner.

Cheap remap shouldn't be in the same sentence. You really do get what you pay for;)

Where have you been hiding? P-Torque are a Forum Sponsor, aswell.... as JKM (you said you'd never heard of them in another thread.)

I would go with a Forum Sponsor, as they have obviously shown an initiative to help out the site.

Does a forum sponsor make them a good tuning company?

They are not well known, just like BAS are not well known.

Nothing against these companies at all, but i personally would stick with 1 of the VAG based tuners.

I had a look at the P-torque website and they deal with a variety of cars, even vans! The companies i listed above are specifically VAG based and have been around years not 10 minutes.

It takes years to build a reputation not 10 minutes mate.

You do get what you pay for, i have been in a couple of LCR's now with ''lesser known maps'' and have not been impressed.

Big companies also have a lot to lose, smaller companies dont hence why they wont help you ''AS MUCH'' when things start to go wrong.

Any future VAG based cars i own and i will be spending my £££ with 1 of the VAG based tuners:)

Nothing wrong with that is there;)

This is exactly my point. Your saying you've never heard of them. Therefore won't ever touch them. But if you got past the 'I'll go to the best, and pay the most' malarky... Of course then, you won't of heard of them...

A lot of these tuning companies, start from people 'working' from Revo and Forge etc.
So they upload similiar maps....

They've got the experience, I presume there company rep still must be poor that, that effects there work too??

Hi Guys

We actually do specialise in VAG group mapping.

In honesty, this is not pushed on our website due to the fact that we can tune pretty much all vehicles with an ECU, and dont want customers of other vehicles to think that they wont get a superb result too.

We have mapped alot of members cars now, and guarantee our work.

If anyone has any questions, or concerns about re-maps, feel free to PM or e-mail ;)

Mitchy, with all due respect, just because you haven't heard of them it doesn't make them bad at what they do. If you have decided that you are only interested in the companys you list, then of course you will not know of the others as you'll not bother to take an interest in them.

JKM and PTorque have been discussed on this forum for a long time. Both have had threads dedicated to them from happy customers that have turned into total love-ins when other happy customers post to agree with the sentiment.

But if you have decided that you aren't interested in any other companys than your top four favourites, it's no wonder you didn't read those threads and take note.

That's not a dig at you at all, as everybody has companies they feel safe with, but please don't try and put other people off just because you don't know the company.
