I know this Will have been covered before, but im in the Glasgow region an I'm looking at a remap for my Leon fr. Unsure of what company to use. Star performance do GIAC, Revo in Edinburgh or Bluefin online. From what I've gathered a bluefin seems to be quite "tame" but is cheap and has a handset. Revo are very expensive but seem to be popular, GIAC? not heard much about them. Do the remaps affect the mpg badly as well?

Cheers in advance for replies

Get revo, and no stage 1 remaps dont affect the mpg a part from when gunning it

Any particular reaso? I've heard their maps are more aggressive with higher boost spike but do they sustain? What about GIAC?

all the most powerful 2.0TFSI's are revo.

Also you can return the car to stock mode for dealer visits etc

I got mine Revo'd at Auto Haus in Edinburgh and i'm well impressed with the result, also i think they are doing a global sale just now £100 off.

After phoning autohaus in Edinburgh it's coming in at 640 bucks including vat because the Revo sale ended. Think star performance is going to be my best bet, I can't justify almost 700 for a remap.

Im in the same boat mate.

It'll be 700 quid by the time ive driven to edinburgh and back. Very expensive for a software upload.

Wheres star performance, what do they charge, and are they any good???

Ouch. Why so much? Have REVO increased prices recently? Thought it was about £500.

My Stage 1 GIAC remap was £550 with a flash loader & stock mode IIRC.

Personally, I wouldn't comprimise quality over cost, but £700 is steap.

Yeah the sale ended then when the VAT is added in it jumps waaaay up. I realise you could get it "off the books" but still far too much cash. Star performance are in fife mate, seem to be popular with lads around my way guy seems to know his stuff. £446 for the basic remap which is much more affordable. How do you rate GIAC Kid? is there much difference between REVO and GIAC they seem to be pretty much outputting the same ammount of horses. I know that bhp isnt everything, which one delivers better?

Have a look at this.

Thats awesome mate, seems to be with just a stage 1 and remap? thats impressive figures, although I wouldnt entirely beleive it could output that much, not at the wheels anyway.

Could definately be worth a weekend trip to Fife this weekend!

That will be the flywheel power......u'll be amazed the difference a remap will make i have the Revo on my new Leon Cupra R and went from 262bhp to 315bhp totally transformed the car.....the GIAC maps are impressive to and Star Performance is good the only reason i went with Revo is because i already had a select switch from when i had my S3.

Revo would be my first choice mate, but the cash situation cant take that much just now. Be good to see what the fr pushes out normal see if its over or under the manufacturer claime. id be happy with 250bhp if i could get that with a stage 1!

Youre cupra R must be like s**t off a shovel!wish they were AWDke the r32...be nice to have that much useable power from a standing start.

Yeah would be good with the AWD but VW and Audi probs don't allow that....yeah my car has surprised a few people how quick it is with just the map, i'm just waiting on a few things for the suspension then will be saving for a Milltek turbo back exhaust,Forge twin intake and Revo stage2.

Good luck with ur car.....:)

Think Owen might disagree with that comment slightly :p

I don't.

His car had a good 3+mph slower terminal speed over the 1/4 mile than a near identical REVO car on the same day which had an issue with brakes binding slightly. His quick time was down to a WOT box, lightning gear changes and a lot of practice with his launches (2.1 second 60 foot times).

On top of that, another forum member on here has gone from REVO S2+ to GIAC Extreme and is going back to REVO S2+ because the GIAC code slowed his car down. Perhaps he will be along to confess, but I am not giving away his username. Another user on here swapped from GIAC to REVO on his old car (Blade) and was more than happy with the move.

With regard to price, have a look in the Scotland section and you will see REVO will be present at the Scottish meet at Crail in July with a special offer on remaps ;)

Angel tuning is a good tuning specialist mate. 2.0 Tfsi ko3 fr from 200 to 25-260. For £230, I can't speak highly enough of Paul there!

I seen that Revo are doing a spot at crail on special offer....don wanna wait that long, use the money while I have it sitting lol
Angel tuning? That sounds too good to be true at that price, do they use custom maps or files from another tuning company? No harm in checking up though. Cheers for the info guys, think I'm gonna go for the GIAC map at star, Revo is a bit out of my budget just now. Be a good little side number if anyone on the forum had access to maps and tuning equipment, these garages must turn over a fortune for what is essentially just flashing an ECU.
