I will be the 1st to say it, you got what you pay for.

I would go with a reputable company.

Sounds about right.

Have you looked into other dealers? Are they going to give you a trial?

they're all really far from me, in skipton, north yorkshire, who else would you recommend apart from revo?

Well youve got Custom Code, Jabba, Revo and APR.

Each will have people who say good things about the one they have.

I would ask if you get the trial though.

ok will do, cheers for the advice, its finding one close so i can get the trial without travelling too far.

imo that remap sounds ok especially as they state if your not happy they will return your car back to standard dont no if they refund you aswell but if they do id them a try but you could go an easier way and just get it revo'd at a revo dealer or custom oded your choice mate

take a risk and maybe save money or take a risk and spend twise as much :shug:

custom code is tempting, theres 1 in leeds, which is close to me, very tempting indeed! haha

is there anyway an insurance company would find out with these things?

I only know about what i read on here, but the way i read the eBay add to me it seems like a true "chip" tuning modification i.e. remove ecu etc, rather than the serial port tuning used by most tuners, custom code, revo etc

Correct me if i'm wrong.

As for the insurance, they wouldn't be able to detect it so long as you didn't have an accident. If they investigate i'm pretty sure they may be able to detect it though.

But again correct me if i'm wrong.

It is hard to detect but this debate has gone on in several threads. Baisicly unless they are looking for it they wont find it and with most you can flick it back over to stock anyway. But your insurance is invalid if you dont declare it most will insure a remap but some for more than others.

haha, good stuff, thats a long way from cornwall. You staying in ilkley? what car do you have?

Just got a reply from custom code in leeds to come out and do it, 380 + vat, which i dont think is too bad, that would get me 170-175 bhp and 270 - 280 torque, does that sound good? chris.
