Hi guys, ive had my car about a year now and when i bought it the guy told me it had been remapped, he didnt say by who, it also had a catback exhaust when i bought it.

Since then ive put on a front mount intercooler, forge TIP, done a few other bits and bobs but nothing massive and pretty much since ive bought it, its showing 1.5Bar at max boost! it does drop off after a while but holds about 1bar

Its a K03, and I met a guy last night who knows the previous owner and he said it had never been mapped, which i find hard to believe and said the actuator could have been wound in which isnt good?

Dont know to much about it so was wondering if u guys could help me out, he mentioned there is a way on VAG com to find out if its been remaped, which i have.

Any help appricated

Mike :)

Spoke to jamie today the previous owner he told me that the guy b4 him had it mapped but has no proof, if it was mapped it would hold more than 1 bar of boost so myself id say the acuator has been messed round with. (im the guy you spoke to last nite by the way) ;)

ah right cool, how can i check the actuator? i think people measure the length of the the bar? does anybody know what it should be set to?

other thing i was told last night by another mate who knows alot about this sorta thing was the car has a knock sensor which would show up if it had been played with

my mate has a standard cupra i shall go see his and get the lenght of his accuator bar and compair with yours

so when you goin to polish mine then mate :p and how much you want for doin it

well seeing as im not sure it will make much difference on yours ill have a go first, just for experience, and if it works im sure we can negociate a good deal, say your engine and turbo :p

lol il text you now so you will have my number im sure youl get mine mint looking at the condition yours is in now to what you had it like :p

Mike it sounds like its mapped to me mate. Mapped cars will peak 20+ psi and drop off to around14/15psi so yours sounds fine mate.

As for the actuator you should be able to count 14 threads on the end of the adjuster, if so then its set correct

well just been out to check, and its got 14 threads on the end! so all is well, just wouldnt mind finding out wat map its got now, cupra power - jamie doesnt know where the guy had it mapped does he

Myki you dont know of a way on VAG com to find out i dont suppose?

i heard you can download your ecu info via vag com and then the encoding script or sumthing could be referd back to a map ???

or is this utter bull ?

Sounds like an old wifes tale mate lol. If there was a way of finding out what map it was then it would certainly have info on here and other VAG sites on how to do it, im yet to see any and im 99% sure none of the other members have either
