I know there are a million threads on remaps and I have searched around but can't find any answers to my dilemma, so unfortunately had to start number 1 million and one.

Basically I am looking to get a revo remap booked now after having saved up the funds. I am on standard map at the moment so the natural way to go would be generic stage 1. However I have a few mods to suit stage 2 or possibly custom map? These are 3" turbo back cobra with de-cat, k & n open cone, 3" sfs TIP and forge dv. However I do not have a fmic and don't have the $ at the moment to get, so that will be a couple months time.

I'm thinking my options are go stage 1 for now and wait to get fmic then stage 2, or go straight to stage 2 or custom to get a remap to the mods I currently got (although is this dodgy without fmic?). Also if I got a stage 2/custom map now and fitted fmic or any other mods in the future would I have to get the map adjusted again for new hardware?

Going without any map and waiting to get fmic and go stage 2/custom in future could be an option however I want to take advantage of the revo winter sale which ends Friday.

I just want to get the car mapped to current mods (mainly exhaust) so It runs more healthy and happily.

Any help or suggestions/opinions will be greatly received.

Thanks

I would personally spend the remap money (maybe a little more) on getting a FMIC, then think about the map in the future.

I dont see the point in having a map done, then 3 months later having another map.

As a revo user I would go stage 1 first . Your car will run fine on stage 1 with all the mods you have got . Stage 2 is only £50 . This can be done 6 years down the line if you wish .

However you should get the fmic and 4 bar regulator when you go stage 2. Without the fmic you will get some stupid heat soak . I've even suffered this on stage 1 before I had my fmic. It was a very hot day and had been giving it some beans. British weather now...... Wouldn't worry too much yet.

Thanks for the replies guys good to hear others opinions. Yeh I did see stage 2 is only £50 extra so I might look at stage 1 now and then save up for a fmic. I have also been looking into water meth injection, don't know what your opinions on this is? Looking for maximum power out of standard turbo and internals, I don't know if there are other mods I can look at also?

Speak to bill at badger 5. He did explain the wmi to me ages ago. Got confused 30 secs into the conversation . Would be good to see what figures my lc would push with that .

I didn't know upgrading to stage 2 was just £50! In that case then, take full advantage of the winter deal :)

I think a revo stage 2+ is possible custom? So that will probably be the aim, but yes in the mean time I think I will book a stage one now to get the 20% off. Is bill from badger 5 on this forum at all?

Am i correct in saying Revo & APR maps are just a generic map?

You're better off having a custom map, like vroomtshh said, badger 5 are a forum sponsor :)

Didn't realise revo didn't do custom. What is the difference between a custom remap to your mods and a generic stage 2 with supporting mods?
