Remote Central Locking Ibiza

Hi, I have a 1999 Ibiza Cupra, and have done the reset for the remote central locking, the key flashes as expected, but the car does nothing, eg. no loocking and unloocking or flashing of headlights. The central locking works via the key in the lock. I guess it's the receiver in the car. Where might it be? Any ideas?

standard central locking on the Mk2's works off an Air pump system.. can you hear the pump operate at all? if yes, you may have a pipe 'off', in which case the air escapes , ergo no central locking

try recoding the remote ?

if you check the section to match the car( >99 mk2 ) ( 99> mk3 ) there is a few threads floating about on what and how to do it for nothing

My remote locking washing working on the car ive just bought, works ok from the key, tried coding but didnt work lights on the key fob flashed but locks didnt cycle so i replaced the batteries, no joy so put a new remote fob i had in my toolbox at work for a galaxy on, programmd fine.
