i've got remote central locking on my ibiza, and wondered if i can increase the signal strength (apart from changing the battery). Because at the moment i have to stand right next to the car to get it to work

Cheers

Pretty sure you'll have the old style locking on yours (infared remote instead of later tyre radio remote)

The sensors for this are located either side of the interior rear view mirror, could be worth aiming the remote at them to see if it's any better, failing that, new batteries or new remote would be my guess

thats right if ure approaching the car from the back , fire it thru the rear window to the front and likewise from the front thru the upper part of the windscreen, pain in the bum those IR ones im so glad to not have them now.

Think swapping to genuine radio remote could be expensive, you would need the control unit for under the dash, remote and then it would need wiring in to get it all working

Probably cheaper to get an aftermarket alarm with remote locking fitted
