Hi guys. I got rid of my egr valve a little while ago and noticed that it was about 30 to 40% blocked.

It has been remapped but feels quite lethargic up above 3k rpm.

Im thinking its because i need to clean the inlet manifold out of all the egr crap, but im open to any advice.

Thanks.

My inlet is clean. I haven't had mine remapped, but mine is lethargic above 3000rpm, especially on hills - some hills I will go up and when I hit 3000rpm it feels like its run out of power

Mine does pull above 3k, but not as well as youd expect especially given that it does pull very well from 2k to 3k.

Im going to have a look for boost and vacuum leaks over the weekend. Its going in friday for the cambelt so i want it running right after i chuck a load of cash at it.

I have had the cam cover off and there are no obvious signs of cam wear so ive ruled that out.

Usually id put it down to a boost leak or something but there is no smoke on boost its very clean.

Well mine pulls like a train from 2k-3k so if you find something that changes things above 3k let me know

Found the issue, its a boost leak.

It only leaks at peak boost by the looks of it. I had the boost hose at the top going to the egr valve fail a little while ago and it looks like my repair has started to let go.

It has a small trail of oil leading outwards from the point where it is leaking. Looks like its time to bite the bullet and hard pipe.
