Hi

if somone was to get their LCR remapped and then wanted to sell their remapped ECU with the remap, would this work on another LCR?

how easy is it to remove the ecu? any soldering or is it plug and play?

cheers
Mark

Im sure you would have problems with immobiliser, central locking etc.

ECU controls more than just the mapping.

good point

is it possible to have an duplicate an ECU?
i.e. buy one and copy the data from yours onto the other one

i'm not on about copying remaps here just the bog standard ECU

Its possible to completely "clone" an ECU. Software and IMMO data can all be moved over onto a suitable second ECU. Using correct equipment it can even be done over OBD port.

Yes just speak your local tunning garage! They shoudl be able to this, as some of they customers post they ecu to them.

Not every tuner would offer this service, most would only write to the chip containing the map data. The IMMO data and VIN number are stored on a different chip inside the ECU that your average tuner cant program over the OBD port.

Yup i can clone or swap info and in some cases make immo free for most car ecus,, if you need this work phone me for more info..

Regards pete

I've got my wiper arms off, the long seal is off.

I'm struggling to see how you remove the large plastic panel off the bottom of the windscreen! How does it come off please?

Edit: see other 'LCR Scuttle Panel Thread' for this now.
