Repainted front, wrong color match

Hi all

Had my car repainted due to some bad chips on the bonnet, front and fenders.
But the color does not match! Had the rest of the tested at a pro car detailer. But no good. The detailer says the color match is wrong. The painter says it OK, but the rest of the car is faited...

So....what is the right color code, and clear coat? If the car have a clear coat at all? I know the colorcode is in the trunk, but does it have clear coat?

Btw. look at the difference! It's huuuuuuuuuuuge!

Somebody else posted something very similar a while back, but over a larger area of the car. Same colour too. A professional detail cured it though, as a good rotary session brought the faded paint back to life.

If your current detailer says it can't be improved... find a new detailer! Check the cleaning forum for special SC.net offers ;)

That's horrific - it's laughable really if it wasn't on your car. Absolute joke.

I don't know what the equivalent of trading standards is but if he thinks that work is of merchantable quality he's having a laugh.

I've got a similar problem with my Yellow LC, crashed it and had the bonnet, both wings and bumper sprayed as they were new parts, the paint job is brilliant but they tried to blend the paint on the drivers door and couldn't do it so they just sprayed the whole door so it doesn't match the rear door. Also the roof has faded alot but the paint on the other side of the black strips looks alot brighter, would a prefessional detailer really be able to get it looking better?

Dont know were the heck my post went!!...

But I wrote something like this:

The detailer adviced me to contact SMC Denmark(Scandinavian Motor Company), which I did.
Talked with a paint specialist from the VW concern and showed him the link above! He told me that it should'nt look like that at all and asked who painted it.
He knew the paint shop and called them, told them to take a look at my car and fix it!
Drove down to them, they where turned 180 degrees.
Happy and understanding. "Yes ofcause we will fix it, the color is not the right one"...Last time is was more like...the car is faded, we cant fix it...WTF! Just because I contacted SMC, then they are able to fix it? dumb asses!

They might had a little lesson from the VW paint specialist!

Although the difference in shades is painfully obvious, one has to admit the new shade looks better than the faded old one.

Tell that painter to get some glasses, the mismatch is awfull.

Good luck getting things sorted.
