Mine seem to last for years but I have noticed it's completely and utterly random which batteries work. All from reputable shops but some brands work and some just don't, very odd.

Presumably you’ve not got keyless start / keyless entry so your key fob doesn’t continue communicate with the car
like it does on a keyless car. Prior to my current car which is keyless, I never had to replace the key fob battery in any of the VAG cars I owned and I had each of them for around 4.5 years. My current VW has keyless. I do temporarily disable the keyless functionality each time I lock the car so it’ll be interesting to see how long the key fob battery lasts.

My last one only did 6 months in spare fob 2.8 v. Usual one still okay at 3,3 v. I only had my wifes spare key DARE NOT change battery in case it failed
They only barely last a year each.
I park tight against garage wall on nearside. Means if they fail cannot get cap off or open the passengers door to get in.
I replaced both with 06/30 dated. However my well used FOB just packed up after fitting the battery. No lights squeakly clean contacts. Used spare to use car. Left for few minutes took battery out and put back in worked fine BONKERS.
I now take spare whenever I go away and leave in missus bag

Mine lasted about 18 months so, following advice on a previous thread, I replaced the battery with a 2032 (not the 2025 that came out).
It fits ok, being held in place by the key case, and as it's about twice the capacity of the 2025 it should last longer.
I'll let you all know in a few years......

Bye the way - the battery in my keyless Ford Kuga lasted about five years!!

Yes likewise. In many years of ownerships of VIXERS and MEGGERS Never ever had to replace key fob batteries.
Bonkers eh!
