I've noticed that the MAF is held by 2 tamperproof bolts. Can I buy the replacement MAF without the whole BOSCH housing? Just a thought as I have a BOSCH MAF that has been broken where the engine loom connects to the MAF.

yes mate, you usually get the MAF on its own, tamperproof screws are dead easy, go to tesco or asda and get a cheap set of security bits, even maplin slel all the types used for 4.99.

Unscrew and change :)

So just for clarification, if I went to the stealers, I wouldn't get the whole assy that fits between the Airbox and turbo?

I didn't have any security bits, and managed to get mine out with a pair of molegrips :)

meanwhile back at maxcars question , etka , says theres no part number for the MAF element

So what's Muddy on about then - perhaps he should go back to cooking :harhar:

I thought Molegrips were like Adjustable Spanners - for would be mechanics that don't Know their spanner sizes :harhar:
