All done now and gave it a oil change with Mobil 1 esp, engine is smoother and quieter. Still hate doing these belts, soo tight!

Good to hear !

A little tip for next time that might help.

Once the cam has been timed up to the new mark stick a cable tie around the belt and through one of the spokes of the pully.

Time up the crank mark with the belt and wedge a cloth/microfibre under the belt and splash guard above the sump.

Turn the crank clockwise about 5 degrees to put the tension waterpump side of the belt.

Gives you that little bit more play tensioner side to get the belt over the tensioner lip. Plus stops the belt slipping at the crank pulley end. Which seemed to be the biggest problem for me. Last time the only way to get it on was to fit the bolt for the tensioner whilst pulling the belt with the tensioner. Plenty of cut knuckles !

Remember to remove the cable tie before starting !

Glad to hear you sorted it though ! Great when running smoothly. Utter pain in the arse having to trace.your steps !

The tensioner does retract a little further than when its supplied with the firing pin in,
Either use an m5 bolt through the idler into the tensioner and pull the pin out, You can then wind it in more with the bolt or use mole grips to pull it down more.
The belt slides on easy peasy.

I still found with a new damper with pullring difficult.to get the belt over the lip of the jockey wheel . Being left handed didnt help really ! Lol
