I tried the reverse bulb in the top link and got bulb failure warning on the display.
As with most bulbs the facelift car seems very picky.

Ditto mate, CREE reverse bulb and various LED sides all canbus error free.... And they have all given error on my 61 plate Ecomotive :(
the Cree one I've got worked fine for a year in a 2010 FL FR and it's now been in the R since we've had it and no errors yet.... :)

Is that the one I gave you the link to Kev - if so, very strange. I've not had a single error at all. Wow these cars are bloody tempramental - at least yours isn't playing silly beggars with a remap lol

No mate the link you sent had expired and no longer available.
I sent mine back for a refund.
I've since installed a security light down at my garage so don't need one now:lol:

When you back at Awesome? Me and Fr Kris were there today.
Although the journey was very long with hold ups, all in all a very good satisfying day.

I went to awesome yesterday just to have a little look and see what it was all about. I enquired about the rolling road, lowered suspension and cruise control in my car. Have to say the guys in there all seem very pleasant and knowledgable. I can see why so many people use them!

As the original link had expired I went for this one...

Turned up very quickly (next day!) housing is blue not red.. Bulb works fine but I get an error and a message to check left reverse lamp as soon as the ignition is on... Guess it's a resistor or back to the drawing board.... Also looks like there is no solution via VCDS and turning off cold bulb warning...

Damm car is to clever for it's own good!

FIXED IT! :D :D :D

Well OK fiddled it thanks to Nath and his work around for LED numberplate lights...

I decided that as the error came up on the dash as soon as the ignition was turned on that the error was generated by the cold bulb check.. Obviously the LED does not look like a normal bulb to the system when the check is done..

So, all I needed to do was copy Nath's idea and use a W5W bulb and holder and connect it accross the two outer wires on the connector that goes to the reverse and inboard rear light cluster (left hand side).. Used a couple of ty wraps to hold the bulb/holder in a safe place (measured a W5W bulb with a temp gun after it had been on for 10 min and it gets to 80+ C!)..

Anyway, once the bulb and hold were attached the warning went off straight away and the reverse LED is still working!!!

Result!!!

If anyone wants or need a couple of pictures of the mod to get it working just let me know and I'll post them :D

Good little bulbs these...i bought 2 for my old saab 9-5 hot aero, and that car was well picky about leds let me tell you but these were fine. They were in the saab for a year.
The saab had two reverse lights which meant these were very very bright when they both came on,really impressed with them....now i have a 10 plate FL cupra iv used the same bulb from the saab and they still work with no errors, not quite as bright hence the leon only having 1 revrse but still brill....i have the red cree bulb aswell for the foglite but to be honest, stick with the original fog bulb as there isnt really any differance,i spose you could still use the reverse light in the fog lite lamp as the lense is red anyway so wouldnt make a differance really.

I bought one of these bulbs, but due to it being a non canbus type would only work for second or two. So I went for this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CANBUS-38...rParts_SM&fits=Model:Leon&hash=item3f1caf3a86
More expensive, but you do get two bulbs.
