Reversing noise..

Past few months, well probs longer then i can remember, i have a whine/clucnking sorta sound coming from the frontend of the car only in reverse, few people have told me it could be driveshafts?? meh i dunno.. oh and my clucth pedal has started to squek to when bring it up, got alot harder tooo ..

do you have and clicking/clunking when going forward around corners or on full lock?

Nope, nothing when on full lock or corners! it all seems quite tight. handling isnt off at all..

i had a problem like that only in reverse i had to replace the gearbox

reverse gear syncro mesh is worn out.

And the squeaking of the pedal when it comes up sounds like the start of the pedal box issue.

Sounds like good news lol. Can the mesh be sorted without replacing the gearbox?? and im guessing i could get a pedal box from a scrappy?

Depending what it is like you could fix the current pedal box. Crezz recently done a fix on his, check out his readers ride thead.

Usually a worn clutch and/or clutch cable starts to cause the issue.

Alright nice one, ill get someone to look into it for me at work. give it a quick inspection.. the noise really starting to bug me, got to reverse out of a lane at 6am every morning!

i didnt think reverse gears had synchros ?

well what ever the reverse gear is, the teeth are most likely worn. can be replaced using rebuild kit off ebay or repaired at gearbox specialist.

I had the same Brummy, it didn't cause any problems though
