It undoubtedly holds onto the power higher up for longer it looks like a nice sensible map, I just don't know how much more powerful it'll actually feel... I guess thats what their 30day money back guaranty if for.

Its on the Revo Uk site as well mate. You could probably go to any revo dealer and get it sorted today.

I'm not keen on paying £399+VAT for it though, if I do eventually go for one I’ll be waiting for some sort of offer like the recently expired spring offer.

I really do think the map is a much more sensible offering than some other tuners. The only issue you may get further down the line is the turbo. At least that’s right at the front and much more accessible than on some other cars.

With the torque output being so close to standard I wonder if the stock torque limiter is in place? It would be nice for a revo employee come on and comment on how the car drives and give a little more info. Like is that 221BHP run on 99ron and what the outputs are for the 95Ron mode etc.

I'm sure I read 4k somewhere..

You wont have DSG trouble with the revo map. Its only got about 5Nm more than my standard car :D

Its designed as a sealed unit where by the clutch is not supposed to wear out over the life of the engine. Due to its nature and computer controlled brain there is not a lot you can do. Just drive it and enjoy. Treat it with the respect you would any normal gear box. Let the car warm up and don’t boot it at low rev’s in a high gear (although kick down will usually kick in which will negate this worry)..

If you go for a map with silly torque figures and it does cause the clutches to slip its a big fix or off to the scrap yard.. I couldn’t even guess how long it would take to slip.

My Cupra TDi with 280lb/ft started to slip at 70k and that was a relatively low torque figure. I don’t know what abuse or maps the car had before me however..

hmmm i fancy abit of power! :D BUT £399 is rather expensive. But then again 221BHP from 150BHP! thats like VTEC killer power!

I think my dealer is actually gagging for me to get a remap on my FR to Cupra Power. :D might ask him about warranty stuff first.

FR Power will you PM me the name of your dealer. I wouldn't suggest giving out dealer names or specifics on the forum.

It doesn't mate. Software only.

Reply from Revo kev

£399+vat the UK Switch package price is applicable to UK customers (Select £49, Select Plus £99 +vat when you register with Revo Hq within 28days after buying your software) I'm afraid there's no extension on the spring special.

I went out for a play in our Ibiza last Friday, it's a great car with software on!

It’s the going rate for the new engines across the revo range. The DSG doesn't really need a remap to make use of the power. The only think i'd change about my DSG is that it doesn't auto kick down in manual mode (is bloody manual!!! drives me mad) and that it doesn't rev the balls off the engine out of the power band in Sport mode...
