Hi,

Its defo a 1.8 20vT, but 4 x 4.

After recently driving my friends FWD version I noticed mine seems alot slower accelerating, but sticks to the road like glue at speed on bends.

I wonder which is better?

slower to accelerate as its much heavier, but you can accelerate the same rate in the wet or dry i bet unlike him

get a nice BT on it and enjoy.. :D

Hi!
2004?
I thought they stopped making them at least a year before..............

I think in year 2004 they stopped making them, never seen 05's 4wd anywhere

i'm hoping that Haldex will last as it's expensive as h*ll to repair it

when the Mk1 leon came out, there was loads of press about there being a 4wd RHD car, but to my knowledge, none were ever made as audi kicked up a stink, erosion of their territory or something

LHD yes, loads of them in v6, 1.8T and diesel in places like finland, germany, denmark, greece etc (cupra4 was v6 (?) 20VT4 the 1.8T (?), what was the diesel badged as ?, but I dont believe any RHD ones were made.......

please prove me wrong

RHD ? possibly converted but iirc that was the reason we didnt get it as it couldnt be but then nothing is impossible

most early ones are V6 or diesel and about 6 months after the 1.8T came out but seen a yellow tdi as we had one come over from hollando belgium for a track day

badge with rear '4Cupra' (flag)

and a small C4 on repeater but red TDI if diesel

the bodykit was different to the standard Leon which is until tht MY03 came out dressed in C4 clothing which you can blame me n Zboyd for by the way :) as when i spotted the kit we imported one and fitted to his imperial blue Cupra back 2000/01

Seat UK liked it so much they called me up to ask how we afterfitted the sideskirts as they wanted to make their own to show the powers that be

18 months later the MY03 came out with is standard :)

And getting type approval was expensive vs the anticipated returns IIRC

personally i'd leave it LHD but hotrodders dont worry about type approvals and such like ;)

Cut - Weld - Drive [B)]

I was looking for a LHD 4wd 1.8T two years ago and I couldn't find anything newer than 2002.....

still looking myself but personally the V6 - seen the engine in flesh on prod line and nearly dropped to my knees - gorgeous motor

Indeed I placed an "order" for a 4wd 1.8T at the stockport dealer when they were announced. I even had ( might still have somewhere ) the brochure showing a cut out of a 4wd leon. But when the official announcement came of it's release I was told there had been a change and no RHD 4wd Leon :(

For all the non-believers, they (4wds) are listed in the back of the english (UK) owner's handbook. Try reading it sometime - you'll learn loads :p

Same system as Golf 4motion/Audi A3 Quat/Skoda 4x4 I think (Haldex clutch type). There was an Octy 4x4 with 400 bhp sold recently on briskoda :rocker:
