RNS510 Aux problem

Fitted my RNS last month or so, AUX port wasnt working at the start but found out I can use it I just didnt have it enabled. Though its very quiet?
All the settings are fine (I think), Hoping someone know how to fix it.
I took a video to show you guys.

A fix for this would be good.

Don't use my aux input but after reading of your problem I decided to test mine. Guess what, mines exactly the same.

Yeah me too, Its got 3 settings Quiet/Medium/Loud "something like that" but its set to loud. Don't see why it doesnt work, worked on the standard CD player. Plus the RNS is an upgrade through seat!

Are you using the double lead with both aux & usb on the car side & headphone jack on your phone/mp3 side?

Headphone jack that plugs into the car (Worked fine with the original CD player) so dont see why it shouldn't work with the RNS..

Whats vcds? Was fitted by my girlfriends dad who used to be a mechanic, all the leads were plugged in...

VCDS is vag com mate.

Im a noob, what is Vag com? I've seen it mentioned on here LOADS.

It used to be called VagCom. It's now VCDS. It's the software made by RossTech that interrogates your cars onboard computers for their information. You also need a lead to plug into the OBDII port on your car then into laptop USB port.

Able to check/clear fault codes. Log measuring blocks etc etc.

Very handy but also can be expensive.

It can actually yes.

But, if you first noted any coding before making alterations, you should be ok to revert back.

For what it's worth mate, I think the problem with the sound "maybe" something to do with the wiring of the aux in. A quick google shows of others altering their wiring slightly. But, I have nothing concrete to show you.

Oh no good then mate. I'm in the uk. Was gong to offer to take a look on vcds at the settings.

When I had my rns510 replaced under warranty they fitted the vag aux iPod kit for me too. The dealer fecked up the wiring for me and I had no sound from the stereo (well very faint). It ended up being an incorrect wiring connection, but I can't remember what.

Also in vcds there are two tick boxes that need to be ticked to enable the aux functionality.

I'm not sure if the dealer would be willing to alter the wiring but it wouldn't hurt to ask.
