A few pics of the trackdays 'aftermath'

Managed to change the colour of the brembos and the logos yellowish with the heat
Lost 2 centre caps (last time i lost 2 and said i'd take them out come track time but forgot)
Most importantly with the heat generated i melted the powdercoating on the mating face between the hub and wheel causing the wheel to come loose.
Luckily this was discovered on a slower drive to the petrol station so beware those who have had their wheels powdercoated
Even after tightened up you can still see the melted bits

Could have been a lot worse just lucky i noticed it when not on the track
I've put a thread up in the section where trackdays are organised as a heads up to others
You should come along next time, its so much fun and you get to use the car properly

Have you had your tracking checked since you got the wheels powdercoated? When mine was checked they found the rears were a fair bit out of spec, despite there not being any adjustment at the rear. Turned out it was cos the wheel company I used had left powdercoat on the mating face which was putting the alignment out. Once they removed it they were OK again. Might be worth getting it removed, you also won't have to worry about it melting again, on the mating face at any rate.
 
Might be time for me to crack out the dremel again
Its hasnt been tracked in a while but i have solid subframe mounts to fit so once i get these in i'll probably get it done again
 
Yeah I'd get any powdercoat off the mating faces, I'd bet that your tracking is a bit out right now. You'll probably need to get your wheels rebalanced once the excess powdercoat is off, I found I was suddenly getting vibrations through the steering wheel at motorway speeds once mine was sorted and the tracking was done.
 
Cosmetic damage all that mate, but WELL worth it I'm sure :D

My Brembo decals don't seem so brilliant white anymore since Brands Hatch either! Lol.
 
I'll add this to the list of things to do in the next few weeks
So i need to remove all the wheels and take off the powder coating, replace the rear brakes, strip the front calipers and repaint in silver (maybe do the rears if enough time), get some black brembo decals, fit 034 solid subframe mounts, get all the wheels rebalanced, get the car tracked and i think my front rotors are now worn below 26mm and warped
 
Plus plumb in your FMIC.
I forgot about that, really that should be quite high up the list too so i can finally get it finished
I know someone who might lend you some calipers while you did yours :whistle:

Thanks for the offer Phill but after having a realistic think the fronts may have to wait because if i do them it would be properly
I'd have to strip them and send them for powdercoating (much better than spraying) and then would need to reseal and rebuild them which wouldnt be cheap especially since its only for a colour change
Shame you couldnt make the trackday too as i thought you may have enjoyed it that much you changed your mind on breaking it

Will do mate, probably be looking to do another one around april next year as we're about to start the crap weather

Havent driven it yet as i still havent done that many trackdays and still learning how to drive 'properly'
I was speaking to barn yesterday about possibly having an overnight stay and doing angelsey at some point
I'd be up for it next year but Donnington is usually one of the more expensive tracks
 
If you do Blyton again in the summer I could put a tent up for you all and we could have a night in Lincoln?

Yeah it is normally on the dear side isn't it. Done it on two wheels before which was brilliant but I think four wheels maybe more enjoyable lol.

I know someone else itching to do Anglesey but as you say, I think that would have to be an overnighter.
 
Angelsey works out quite cheap if done right, last time i saw it was £125 for the day and when i emailed the organiser he gave me a 10% discount code for early booking
If it was organised to stay in a B&B or similar the overnight would be cheap and we could all meet for some evening 'refreshments'
Donington was £180-200 for the day and is the closest but is also a fast track, but would like to do it at some point preferably on a quieter day
Also the free ARDS instruction you can get on the day is worth every penny
