Is it difficult to remove the base of the aerial on the roof? Getting the roof vinyl'd at the weekend and i need to rremove it.

nope its easy, pull down the back of the headlining and youll see that the base has iirc a 19mm nut on the back of it. undo this and it just lifts off. be carefull when putting it back on as it has a spikey ring on it which grips against the cars roof and if you do it up to tight it will push through the roof and then it will leak!
Mine needed one hell of a pull to get the aerial off. Be careful not to damage the roof if you use that as leverage.

Dont these have a safety feature to make them hard to steal though? Suppose thats the screw part thinking about it. But it took an awfully strong pull to get it off. I had read previously that its hard though.
