rotor arm fitting?

i got a new dizzy cap and rotor arm for the gti, have replaced the dizzy cap but couldn't get the old rotor arm off, don't have a clue how it comes off but didn't want to force it before asking on here anyone know how? thanks

it should just lift off.... unless some pillock has glued it on (possible)

nah, they glued 16v ones on (for no good reason), but the 8v shouldn't have been

Mine was quite difficult to remove, its as if its on a little ridge? like it needs to be clicked in place and needed a bit of persuading to get the old one off.

Some have a small screw on the side that needs to be undone. Others may have been glued. Bit of WD40 may help, or failing that just destroy the old one with some pliers, should break easy enough.

i had to saw mine off (without touching the metal the rotor arm attaches to lol) bloody took the piss!
