Right, got under the car today to undo the sumpplug to give her a oil change and it seems that the person before has attempted and failed or not renewed the plug as it looks pretty sheerd off... and it it also very tight... whats the best thing i can do to get it out ive doesed it in WD40.. but what if that fails?? am i looking at a new sump? Help

a friend of mine welded a nut onto the stub i left when i rounded it, came off a peach afterwards

try to get a multi point socket to grab on it not a normal hex type might be lucky like that failing that try to get some grips/stilsons on the head of the bolt tap bolt head before trying to shock the thread, failing that mate its going to be grief without removing the sump, try heating it alittle bit to with a blow gun, hopefully the muti spline socket will do the job though,
good luck

what style socket are you using? one with 12 points in it? or a proper 6-sided one?

I can't see that it's rounded so much that a proper 6-sided socket won't be able to get a grip on it.....

Other option is to use a 12 pointed socket that's 1mm smaller, and hammer it onto the sump plug, and undo it that way.

mole grips. But tighten it a littel first. It is always eaier to break seal on a tight bolt if you just tighten it a tiny bit. most manufacturers recommend a new sump bung at each oil change. A lot of this problem comes because people do not even change the washer everytime let alone the bung it'self

Ive been ripped off by the sounds of it!!!! [:@] :censored: i payed 9.13 for the plug and washer from the stealership!:censored:
