just had my car RR at power engineering and this is i got

RRPowerEngineering.jpg

so its produces 186 BHP @ 4620 RPM - torque was 240lbft -

Has a ottengier(how ever you spell it) chip so is it worth me spending the £400 and getting it Revo'd or CC (they both produce simular results)?

mods are Hurricane induction, Forge 007p - thats it engine wise - although got new TIP to fit CAI -

Guy there said he can replace the chip with a new one to bring it back to standard then remap it -

or i could do this 2 for 1 CC thing JBS are doing - although weighing up my options as its quite a distance from me

cheers

my mate had a oettinger chip....JBS took a look at his ECU and showed it to us...looked like someone and bodged the chip in with chewing gum, looked like a right mess and the timing was way out and overall was just crap!

So from my experience I'd say replace it with a Revo or CC, if you can get someone to get a remap with you then I guess its worth going to JBS for the 2 for 1 but lke you said depends on the distance!

Get a normal ECU and remap it, I have a p-torque map with filter, dv & tip & made 203bhp on the rollers with problems (maf & charge problems).

Car even went into limp mode

I only paid £250 for my map

yea the guy mentioned that the timing was abit funny - mmm just checked how far JBS is....160miles apparently -

think i need to find myself a partner then - after petrol costs - probably save me around £120 -

where was the link again for the JBS thing? cant remember - lol

Ill ask them if they are willing to put a new chip in for me then remap it.

im based in london..where are p torque based?

EDITED: based in wolverhampton

what BHP figures you got from your stage one?

203.3 BHP

238 lb/ft

last rr'd on 17/09/07 and i had some issues with the car not running 100%, went into limp mode on my 2nd & 3rd go so could of probably got a little more.

Previously I got 226bhp & 240 LB/FT back in april 07

thats alot - how did you managed to get such high bhp figures - what mods have you got mate?

Still running ko3, got forge tip, split r, dynatwist & scorpion cat back & a p-torque map.

Yeah it was silly high, probably way off the mark but It was fun while it lasted, a few people got a bit upset about it being so high.

I think with the high figures it was cos the place I used estimated your flywheel where as the last time i got rr'd they gave you the flywheel figure not estimate it.

thank looord it was an estimate - lol

ill be happy with it being around 200 as only got SMIC - but will do the numbers dropping p-torque a email aswell

forgot to ask, it is aggresive map?

Personally I like my P-Torque map, Mrs Cupra R has an Ibiza Cupra with a Jabbasport map and the way the power is delivered in both cars is totally different.

In hers its smooth and seems to hold till about 5 on 19psi and then spikes off to 15psi.

On mine you get a raw kick which pulls you back and then it spikes off about 5k but, spikes off a bit more than hers.

So hers holds longer but mine is more raw when you boot it. They are both about the same in power but its just the way its delivered.

I find I get more torque steer than her in lower gears

cheeky request - if i do decide to do with p-torque - can you take me for a little spin?

just so i can do a comparison?

thanks

Yeah shouldnt be a problem.

You know you can tell Will (the p-torque man) how you want your map to be i.e Agressive, smooth etc etc and he will map it accordingly.

I wanted a bit more aggressive so thats what he did.

didnt know that - i want a aggresive map - just dropped him a pm so will wait to see what he says first and will update with what im going to do -

thanks for the info!

I would be confident of improving on your current figures with a remap. Should see 200bhp no worries if its all running sweet.

another option for you might be impossible performance in rochester, which isn't too far from you mate.

I've always had map from there and I really rate them, not many peeps on here use them, but briskoda boys love his maps...really nice and smooth. I made 206bhp and 230 ft/lts at power engineering earlier this year with exhaust and filter.

Mike would do you a good price too if you gave him a ring. Plus the map is custom and he only charges £50 to adjust the map if you add more mods (he fitted my k03s and remaped it for £200..bargain!)
