hello all. im after a little advice. just over a week ago i took a friend out in my car for a little fun, the car was running like a dream (very fast and pulling hard). from that night the car is not running as it was, seems flat past 4krpm in every gear. i have run vagcom and there is no faults. i reset the tb and ecu. i have tried running without a maf and it doesnt run aswell as it does when plugged in so that says to me the maf is fine plus its only a few months old and its a bosch. mpg is fine and there is no smoking coming from the car. i have serviced the dumpvalve and run a boost leak test, and thats all good. now im thinking it might be the n75 valve, is there anyway to test this out?

any help and advice would be great.
thanks

I had this once mate, the car felt un-mapped though.. I'm not sure how severe your loss in performance is, but my N75 was unplugged

yeah i guess you could say it feels unmapped. im thinking a fault n75 could have the same effects as a unplugged one.

My unplugged n75 brought up no faults too. Just felt completely unmapped and struggling. Actual boost no where near requested when logged on vagcom on the road...

Bonnet up, plug in N75 and hello remap again! Always check it near your DV..

flatness can be the ECU pulling timing back. Do some correction factor logs do see how your timing pull is looking.

As Danny said she could be pulling timing on you for various reasons, log timing and I would also log n75 duty cycles.

How's your fueling, last time I seen your logs the IDC's were maxed out.

Thanks danny and robbie, what block numbers should i log as i keep forgeting. I dont think it will be down to timing as last time i went to bills he took quite a bit away. Also i get this flat spot all the time.

just looked over some old logs and it seems im maxed out

injector cycle

Code:
   RPM IPW (ms) IDC
6320 20.4 107.44%

so i guess i should get a 4bar pressure regulator to help this out. i still think this is not the problem as the flat spot starts low down the revs.

edit

this is the logs i used,

also intake temps seem pretty good, since these logs bill has turned boost down to 1.4 bar and insulator gasket added to bring intake temps down.

I have heard that the 4 bar fpr is not a good idea as it puts more stress on the pump, i would look at the reason why you are maxed out may be the pumps struggling or you need bigger injectors.

Philc, look at the air he's flowing, that's why his injectors are maxed out.I maxed mine out on a stage2 setup.

Sam, block 003 & 020 for airflow, timing and timing pull. Also u hit the turbos surge line between 3120 and 3500rpm, that's why airflow dropped more than likely.

Btw I run a 4 bar fpr with 440cc injectors, standard fuel pump!!

robbie would you recommend getting a 4 bar fpr?
im sure i pulled more gs on bills dyno after boost was turned down to 1.4bar with a mbc.
i will do these new logs as soon as i can, but as the car isnt running no way near its best the logs are just going to read bad.

Well done, only saying what i was told regarding the 4bar fpr, so what did you do to sort the maxed out issue on yours? Could Sam do the same? By the way i didn't look at the logs but still looks like it needs more fuel.

It's a personal decision really, cant be good if your leaning out up top, tbo be honest I see people on the forum saying No but no facts to back them up, in all the time I've been on here I have never heard of a fuel pump failing, have u? Some tuning houses(well know ones) recommend them for a stage 2.

It's up to u really, certainly a lot cheaper I guess but like anything carries a risk.

sorry to sound stupid. still learning these things, but do pros out weigh the cons if i fit a 4bar fpr?
is the only risk blowing up the fuel pump?
will my car run alot happier?
or do i need to get my self down bills :D?

There is a risk of everything with these cars, live a little, LOL.
Either way, bigger injectors, 4bar FPR, your gonna need to go to Bill anyway to tweak the map.

Still need to see the logs to see whats going on?
