running lean?

hey guys got a question can you check if car running lean with vag com or anything.

had exhaust fixed yesterday and they said was alot of deposite in the downpipe said it maybe due to the car running lean.

can anyone advsied on this at all

if your car was running lean it would flag a cel

could be that your old exhaust was leaking/cracked

ah rigth so would warn me anyway.

the hole flexly gave way and broke so was leaking alot.

sorry to kind of hijack the thread, mine is running lean at the moment, it is not the maf. Is there a comon fault with them that makes them run lean ? I am going to do the fuel filter tonight, just wonderin what you all thought? Also it is missing when i put my foot down, but the only fault code comming up is that it is running lean?

how do you know you're running lean?

fault code... bank 1 fuel trim etc....?

dont think your running lean bud as it would throw up a fault as above ^^^^

due to leaky exhaust me thinks ......

good good though would have had soem fault code only one been getting is leak in secondary system think it was guess thatw as to do with exhaust though only came on every now and then.

the exhaust was goosed flex totaly fell apart.

a common fault as descrived by Js above.
logging airflow will confirm...
120g/s on stock motor, 150g/s (approx) on chipped motor

Got the same problem, have replaced the MAF, N75,Downpipe, Pre cat lambda, hoses, FPR,. Not sure whats left to do now, any idea's?

Could have been a replacement dodgy MAF Forbez. Had the problem myself and apparently I wasnt the first!
