guys, recently my mpg seems to have been quite poor. ok, so i have had the air con on pretty much constantly since i got it fixed a month ago but i dont think it is that.

after i start the engine, if i watch the average mpg on the trip computer the first number that appears is usually about 5 mpg. it then SLOWLY rises so that after about 5 minutes of driving im up to about 20 mpg.

beyond that it becomes difficult to get it to rise too much further with my drive to work and back resulting in an average mpg about 20 - 23.

im driving EXCEPTIONALLY light footed, moving through the gears as quickly as possible but without ever booting it. my root to work is mostly a roads but with some roundabouts and a couple of traffic lights.

on a motorway drive i reckon i'd be getting about 27-28.

anyone have any ideas/opinions?

good point, im sure it was the same before i changed the dv. having said that it really doesnt feel like its boosting properly with the forge?

the only other change ive made recently is switching to bp ultimate. i used to run mainly on v power.

My car hates BP ultimate the most out of all the fuels... V-power all the way..

saying that V-power doesnt really give me more mpg but the car runs so nice on it.

i'm lucky if i see 23mpg, and i never use the A/C. my missus used the car a while back and she averaged over 30!

my car doesn't like bp ultimate and there are no shell garages near me so i use tesco 99. it must like it because it drinks it like nobody's business! ;)

I average 26 on a rush hour motorway journey and some stop-start city traffic, so yours does seem low. I'd try changing any non-standard parts back to standard and switching fuel.

thing is, although i do like to go fast i would say im pretty damn good at being conservative with the throttle. im sure the mpg was better when i first got the car....
