cheers xd!, i'll give it a go. So, on my setup i have to set the mph to "-3" offeset (to get the correct value). Is there a way to incorporate this offset into that code ?

FFD8 (hex) is -40. Conversion is multiply by then divde by 5 then subtract 40.
This is directly from the xgauge pdf from the scangauge site. Not sure why -40 is used when it should be +32. Though it may have something to do with the A-40 formula for the PID
Should be MTH: 000900050020
So i confirm later by setting an xgauge to display intake air temperature and set the scangauge to use fahrenheit.
As there is already a gauge for this i will compare the two versions and see what is right.

I can confirm that the metres/sec and ft/sec codes do NOT work
The m/s one reads a constant zero, and the ft/sec one doesn't show a reading at all.

Yeah i saw that. Will look at the calulation tomorrow.
The reason you get nothing for f/s is because you most likely had the m/s up at same time. When it is accessing the same PID it will only display it once.
Which means maf is not used too for bhp calculation

I completely obliterated a mate in his car the other night, where as before with my last car (164bhp/ 166 lbft) he was really close.
i don't condone racing on the roads, i accelerated fast to 30
Ill try find a stretch of road later where i can get a full range in thrid or fourth gear and can manage to read the scangauge at the same time.
Damn car just moves to quickly for me to check as have to brake or change gear or back off to avoid ploughing into a car in front.
Will have to try get it a steady reading as maf and bhp will not be reading at same sample.

Have done that before.
Vag-com sampling wont match either as when using the two groups (for torque and maf)
Have recorded maf reading of about 172g/s at 6040 rpm which calculates to 215bhp or 225.5bhp depending on how you calculate

Sounds like a good idea xd!, i've tried to find a straight stretch of road to test mine out on, and it's harder to find a road like that than u think (especially one without much traffic to do it safely on) !. lol. I must take a note when i'm driving round, see if i can spot one !!

there's one on my way to work, i'll have to have a run up there before arriving at work one day. It's quite safe up there, never any traffic and in the straight. Obviously it has to be done safely and within the speed limits eherm

Scangauge II in Leon Cupra- can anyone help ?

I apologise in advance for posting this in the wrong group (possibly), but i couldn't find the ScanGauge one i used to subscribe to.
I got the Scangauge II a few months back and it's been running great up until now. I recently changed my car radio (Blaupunkt MP56) and since i changed it the Scangauge II refuses to work properly. It says "connecting..." and sometimes it does connect, sometimes it freezes. When it does connect as soon as i press the "mute" button on my radio the Scangauge II freezes then switches off a short while after. I switch it back on but it doesn't show any readings and it switched back off. If i take the "mute" off then it works again!. This is VERY odd !. I know the scangauge is working because i've tried it in my fathers car. But it does not like my new radio, why would this be ??. The radio has been professionally fitted (straight swap into the ISO connectors). Is there a workaround/fix, or has anyone else had these issues and been able to fix it ?, otherwise the scangauge is not going to be of use to me ?

I think the Leon is running canbus, so the proffessional would know this, and disconnect the comms connection to the OBDII port
Pardon my ignorance, but i don't understand that ??. The radio was a straight swap, no cutting of connectors etc. Before this new radio i had another "user fitted" ebay radio which gave no problems to the ScanGauge II whatsoever.

Very weird
Cant see how the radio would interfere with the OBDII port or ECU.
Maybe it is not an ISO configuration. Maybe it is using the speed sensing wire for something else and is screwing things up.
Can you completely power down the radio - rather than standby? Some do this by holding down the power button for a while.
Does the scangauge work fine then?

Hi Xd !, the Scangauge works fine most of the time, but as soon as i press the mute (which also pauses the track) then that's when the Scangauge freezes. All numbers just freeze and then after about 10 seconds it switches off !. Switch the Scangauge back on without the "mute" on the radio and it works !!. Even when i turn the volume to zero it freezes !!! - when the volume is 1 or more the Scangauge is fine !!!!!!!!!

Hmm seems the radio is sending some sort of signal out - possible to try control a handfree kit of something (even though you may not have one) it may be doing in on a wire that is assigned for another function from the original radio.
Scangauge is loosing connection and going to usual sleep mode after 12 of so seconds.
Look at the manual and installation manual and see if this happens and what wire it may send out a signal. See if it corresponds to any used for the original radio (eg, speed sensing which your new radio certain wouldnt use).
But at least you can have the scangauge working fine but lower the radio to volume to 1 instead of muting it.
