Sorry to slightly deviate off topic here but i could not help but notice this obsession that people seem to have with "loud exhausts = the ultimate in chavtastic behaviour"

Surely if you all agree with this quote, then you would leave the standard system on?

I am running a straight through custom system with de-cat and it is EXTREMELY loud (for those who dont understand, it goes like this.......Manifold......Big Stainless Steel Pipe........Backbox......the end)

Alot of people say to me "Jib you car sounds really chav-esque!" but the only reason i have this system on my car is to try and get much performance from the engine as possible from fitting a custom exhaust system.

Surley that isn't a bad thing.....right?

check this its a bitch lol ....now that i wasnt looking for a mk3 exhaust i have found one, 49k off a mk3 cupra 02 plate going for £60 including: downpipe, centre and backbox. what u think should i go for it? i know downpipe dont fit, right? so might just sell that on, but the exhaust is like 5/6 years old ...how much longer would i be looking to keep it for? should i just forget it and carry on with my (slightly rattely one) till mot time and i get a custom on there? hmm

p.s. "has slight rust on backbox" ...apparently, as no pics supplied.

If you can get it down to £50 then get it :D I was loving mine and it look very nice as well. Not OTT but better then the floppy willy exhaust that comes on ibiza's as standard:

yes they do ...czech who bought ur mk2, dont think their on here are they?

am i right in thinking the downpipe is no good on the mk2?

how much longer do u think that will last me? being for a turbo, they should be stronger right? or is it at its dying stage?

Well that really depends on the state of the actual exhaust you are thinking of buying. I've seen 40k old ones and they looked like they wouldn't last another year but I've also seen a 70k one that looked like a brand new one. But if you buy one that only has 49k then chances are its going to outlive your ownership of the car.

No idea if the bloke who bought my car is on here. I left the SCN stickers on the car and told him to join the forum but not sure if he has?

You should go for the exhaust. I think it would be worth it. Mine has slight rust on the backbox but its nothing major, just abit on the surface. If I wanted I would be able to remove it. The rust has built up on the welds of the backbox. Theres no rust on any other bits of the exhaust. Only problem Im having with mine is the knocking when turning left. But thats easily solved.

As has been said above it looks good and isnt to OTT with sound or with the size of the tailpipe exits.
