Just been out for my lunch and managed to scuff the nearside front alloy on a kerb.

Has anyone had any success getting a repair done on a Cupra alloy?

Looking through the previous posts it seems like quite a few people have done the same. It is the worst car I've had for clipping the alloys.

Does anyone know of a mobile repair place in the South Leeds area that is any good?

shocker, I have done 2 on my FR.

I have a name and number from a bloke that works for Leeds BMW, its a chips away bloke they use. I don't know how good he is but a friend from BMW recommended him. I will probably give him a go when I can afford to have both the wheels done.

r30lac if you could PM the details of the chips away bloke to me I would really appreciate it.

Are you going to get yours done?

I have just had a look in my email, it looks like I have deleted it. I will get his details from home and let you know. Seemed OK when I spoke to him. I will get mine done in a few week I think.

I've found the FR 18inch wheels (not sure about cupra) need to be taken away for a day or 2 as they are a difficult colour to match. So, my feeling so far is that mobile people can't fix them. If anyone can tell me different and knows someone good in the south east then please let me know becuase I've got two needing work :)

A body shop i left the car with kurbed one of my wheels and I did another (which is rare for me and I was SO annoyed with myself :( )

Are the alloys on the Cupra different to other cars?
Keep away from the kerb lol

Seems like lot of people are clipping the alloys on their Leons...

Got a guy coming round today to fix mine, hope they can get a good colour match.

Will be being very careful when I park the car at the side of the road in future. My last cars have been more 'forgiving' when you clip the kerb, the tyre usually takes the brunt of it, but with the very low profile tyres and big wheels on the Cupra, the wheel gets damaged instead.

Its not the size of the wheels that matter. Its the stupid decision by Seat to run them on a tyre that offers no rim protector

Would be interrested to know what you think of the repair and how much etc.

So would other tyres the same size offer more protection?

Might be something to consider when mine are due for replacement?

To be honest I had a Celica before this and the P-Zero's generally got a slating from people on the Celica Club Forum.

Just had my scuffed wheel repaired by these guys:

http://www.fenwicksupplies.com/

Looks really good from what I can tell (it is a dull day and pouring down).

Wasn't the cheapest place at £75 + VAT (it is cheaper for more than one wheel) but the colour match didn't seem to phase him at all.

I'm happy to pay that sort of price for a quality job which this seems to be.

They do the repair on your doorstep and it probably only took him at 45 mins.
