I have now tried re sealing my doors on my 99 Toldedo but yet again I have 2 pools of water now in the from footwells as well as the back.

I tried using just a bathroom sealant, but this obviously hasn't worked, so can anyoine recommend a sealant that will work.

Thanks

You can get sealent which is designed for external use, windows doors etc.

Slight hijack here.

Is this a problem on all leons and Toledos? Im looking at buying a 53 plate 1.9tdi, does anyone know if Seat had solved the problem by then?

Is it as simple and ensuring the door drain holes are kept clear?

Nope. But it may help.

My 04 Leon has leaking offside rear door seal. If the seal goes, then the water comes out before it gets near the bottom of the door (where the drain is). If your drain holes are also blocked, will just make the amount of water getting in loads more !!!

In for warranty inspection tomorrow.

Best to use the VAG Sealant cord stuff..

Its part number is AKD49701004R10.

Does a good job, and doesn't prevent the door from being dismantled should you ever need to.

I cant remember what its called, but i used stuff thats designed for outside drain pipes etc. Its a nightmare to get off your hands/clothes, but its much more flexible and tough than bathroom sealant. That was a year ago, and the toledo is still bone dry

Listen Boys!!

I have just been through the hassle of fixing my leaks, my front passengers door and rear drivers side door were both leaking in at the lowest point below the speaker.

I used "Stixall" all along the bottom of the doors its supposed to seal anything to anything!! its like a multi purpose mastic for exterior use, Better than silicone in my opinion, very sticky and felt like it had really stuck in the gaps etc.

This problem seems to be common across all of the seat range sadly! Its the only thing im dissapointed about.

Other than that i love my seat!:)

Need anymore advice just ask....

Go to a boat shop and get a tube of sikaflex. It is used to seal decks on wooden boats. If it can take that it can do anything.

TIP put it into a bucket of hot water for 20 mins or so. It make sis easier to work with.
