Two set of sub woofers both Wharfedale. Nothing wrong with the first thou. Kittens slamming into the always on play fights on the subwoofer feed under the carpet. A plug and socket joint under the carpet I'd forgotten about. A London bus would pass in the night and you'd wake up the house rumbling with a loud noise. Moral there, never try to make your own coaxial subwoofer cables. The solder joint goes and the always on subwoofer burst into life. Had it here as well. Also prone to earth issues. Since a new powerline and transformer was put into this part of the village the hum has also gone from the subwoofer
. That had been humming away on and off for 8 years. You switch on and off to fix it.
Earth is provided by the electricity company these days so a duff one causes issues. Someone I know in Eire couldn't get an EV charger installed due to a poor earth. It became pass the parcel between the electricity provider and the charger installer. Yes its fine, no it isn't on two visits. Now telegraph graph poles have arrived for a new feed to the house across fields. The joys of a good earth. Gets solar installations as well where transient behaviour of those telegraph pole mounted transformers in rural falls below spec.
Yes there was suppose to a warmth of British hifi sound that you didn't get with foreign manufactured speakers or amps
. As for the BBCs mumbling material they put out that's where the two channel sound has been poorly mixed from the 5.1. Suppose to be a separate source for that that they should broadcast but if they have made a pigs earth of that... those BBC dramas. I have to search out 5.1 materiel to get the best for sound. iPlayer is all two channel AAC. If you got surround you end up searching for the best source.
