No sure where you're getting no SCR from for the 1.6tdi but some at some point they started to fit it!

Our 2020 1.6 has SCR

I also have a Leon with the 1.6 tdi and to be honest its a very good engine and awesome mpg in the Leon high 60's on a run and round town low 50's

The Ateca 1.6 dsg isn't as good on mpg although we have had that remapped its actually a little better on fuel since the remap. the wife manages mid 60's on her run to work but mostly its around 50-55 max

A remap certainly helps on the 1.6 to get them moving

Yes the launch 1.6 tdi back in 2016 didn't have SCR so somewhere along the line they fitted it. That was the selling point then for people frightened with SCR take the 1.6 over the 2.0. It was cheaper. No adblue was required but they didn't advertise that with the 2.0. There was campaign against SCR, Honest John and all that.

The launch engines in 2016 on the Atecas since I left it a bit hanging plus the gear box fitted.

Hello again, it's been a while and at some point I'd gave up on buying Ateca but lately I've been looking more intensively again for second hand Ateca in good condition. But most of them are with 1.5 TSI engine, or 1.4 TSI 4drive which I would like to avoid because of potential issues with haldex and unnecessary higher fuel consumption. Interesting thing is that there are plenty of Atecas with 1.0 TSI engine and they are much less expensive than 1.5 tsi and of course 2.0 tdi or 1.6 tdi. I know 1.0 tsi has 116hp in prerestyle and 110hp in restyle model and also GPF and 3 cylinders in both variants. I'm not sure do version from the start of production (2016-2018) 1.0 tsi engine have GPF and is there any issues with it. On the paper 1.0 tsi doesn't give me confidence in its reliability and durability. But maybe I'm wrong. What do you thing is 1.0 tsi any good for Ateca?

Well the 1.0 litres in an Arona with DSG works perfectly well. Perky. Pass on how it performs in the Ateca. Probably not so well. With a manual gear box you'd be stirring it more. The haldex works well on my 2.0 diesel, haven't had any issues. The launch Xcellence at 2.0 diesel came with 4 drive and leather seats. They only got sold in that spec. The seating wasn't so comfortable on the lesser mortals, not Xcellences. I can only talk for diesels on the Ateca.

When deciding to change my Leon FR I looked at a few Ateca FRs but bought a Skoda Karoq SEL because of its higher spec. However, the Karoq was more expensive than the same age & mileage Ateca. There were more Karoqs than Atecas to chose from. However, I was looking at cars from 18 to 24 months old.

The Ateca had a more sporty ride & the Karoq didn't handle quite as well but was more comfortable. Both on 18" wheels with the 1.5TSi (148hp) engine & DSG.
