Wondering if you have the Forge BOV ring/spacer of do you have the Forge Diverter Valve.
My car is on Stage 2+ and I had the Forge divertervalve with yellow spring. The valve openened too early under pressure and a fluttering sound appeared now and again. It all got better after using a blue spring but now I use the D rev dv which appeared to be the best solution for a tuned car.

Yes I have a Forge BOV on it and did the yellow spring thing as well. Mate you have it right there and this is what I am suffering from, like you say its there now and again but not to loud ether. I don`t know if I should just leave it and see. You have explained it correctly there. Thanx.

Sorry mate, I don`t want to sound cleaver but I do have compressor surge and you get this with changing gears. Compressor surge sounds cool for the people that don`t know what it is.
But the cool sound is not really that cool as it is the sound of pressure forcing your turbo to spin in the other direction. NOT GOOD. :banned: Its the flutter you get at your gear changing.

I refer you to this sir: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCj6Spwl1CU

What software you running again? Revo stage 2?

I would get rid of the BOV and buy a Rev D (spring) OEM valve from David at Seremotors (cheapest place you will buy one) if you have the Rev C valve (Diaphragm valve). Should be a reasonbly easy swap.

Hi there Allan, was just wondering if you could tell us if the 08 K1 has the KO4 Turbo?

The K1 and Cupra are identical bar the badge and the body kit.

Both therefore have the 2.0T FSi 16v K04 engine with engine code BWJ.

The Leon Sport TFSi and Leon FR TFSi have the 2.0T FSi 16v K03s engine, code BWA.

Get reid of the Forge BOV and see what happens. It has no benefit over the OEM Rev D recirc valve anyway.

Oh yeah! that looks good and I have seen you go down the 1/4 mate. It looks awesome seeing your Cupra. [B)] BTW The compressor surge has different kinds of way`s its sticks its head out. Like what Dan said is one but you get other ways of surge as well. Here is a link to what I am talking about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuNTnA5A2Fo

thats not compressor surge, but if you insist that it is every 2.0TFSI has compressor surge, the only reason why its audible to you is because you have the forge dv.

Even with a stock DV it will make that noise, just faintly as its fully recirculating.

Dont worry about it.

Hi there Poverty, You see there are so many people I have spoken to and seen vids on this mater, had a look on the internet and they all confirm my suspicion on all my comments. I agree what you say about the Forge BOV and I agree with the fact the spring need to be changed. I think the Forge BOV is fine I have made some settings and its starting to fade. You can look at the link and you can see what I mean.

Have watched those vids before, and we have had threads like this before.

Your car is fine, the turbo wont blow. Just go out and enjoy the thing.

LMAO! Yes mate will enjoy it, I was not worried about the turbo being blown, I am a bit of a perfectionist mate and like things to be in good sounding and running order. :funk: Anyhow thank you for your input on this BTW.

LMAO! Are you that same guy yongworrier on the tube?

yep,

I get that flutter just revving the car whilst in neutral, which pretty much proves that its not compressor surge, as there is no real load on the engine, and therefore the boost pressure is pretty much neglible and be insuffiecient to cause compressor surge

Mate we can stand here and argue about it for hours, frankly I don`t have the time. The car does not need to be under load to have surge, its the BOV. This flutter is compressor surge, or in other words what we in the tunning world now as"penguin" there are different degrees of compressor surge and this is one of them. Compressor surge is high rev and on pressure release, "other words exhilaration release" on normal driving. That flutter you get is when your BOV does not open quick enough for the pressure to escape, you need to get your spring changed to suit. Sorry matey these are the facts. What Cuprarob112 & djhorace said was spot on. BOV. :headhurt:

You have contradicted yourself so often

But LOL whatever mate.

Every cupra has compressor surge then. Carry on trying to fix something that isnt there

Well I do agree the D rev now and then produces the same sound only not as loud as the Forge.
The forge DV I had made the mentioned sound very often and above that with the yellow spring the valve opened shortly while accelerating (which resulted in flat spots). In the end I threw the forge out since I don't think it's suited for stage 2 or higher modded cars and it certainly isn´t an improvement on the d rev, I still got a synapse laying around but not certain if I will try that one.

I get the same noise. I have the bov spacer. Noise has only been there since putting it on. I don't get the noise if I'm just revving it in neutral. But then I think pov's is to do with the cai. If you recall pov, when we and Wayne were in Thurrock and u were showin me the cai etc u could hear it sucking in air in the familiar sound of a chatter. So I assume that's what amplifies the sound??

Either way, I've been told by enough people that it's not surge.

Yeah! Agreed. Think I will do what you and dJ has said. Thank you for this, your accurate advise and point. I think we have solved the problem.
