Anyone ever been in contact with them?

Yep - using the online contact form.

Took a couple of weeks for a response and has currently taken 3 months to sort the issue.

( Wrote to they saying I expected a 2015 registered car to have the V6 maps rather than the V4 that the stealer chose to install )

Yep, I also wrote to them to complain about a problem affecting my cars LED headlights. The car has been in to the dealership on multiple occasions and still there is no fix available. So ten whole months later, I still have no resolution... They have been totally useless from the beginning. I was basically told to put up with it and offered 10% off some accessories, as though I'd want to hand them even a penny more of my hard earned cash.

Its a shame, as beyond it all I still really like my Leon... But it'll be my last Seat for a while. Their aftercare service is the worst I've experienced.

They're useless, just like every dealer I've been to. You tell them there's something wrong with your car, they open a case and then email a couple of weeks later telling you they're closing it again, even though your car still isn't fixed!

Nothing but praise for them... I had issues with TWO dealers - they found me a third, and explained the problems to them... progress was a little slow, but it all got sorted.
They even walked the whole issue through with a manager.

Wont sort out my issues with Nav unit which are clearly down to buggy software. Only thing that lets Seat down I think.

I find bigger companies will swat you away... its all about HOW you approach them, I find the "disappointed" slightly angry tack to be the best.

Go in with a positive attitude, IM VERY HAPPY TO LET YOU RESOLVE THIS, despite there being legal options Id rather give you another chance.

Set out your stall BEFORE contacting them, white down exactly the problem(s) and how you would like them resolved. This has to be black and white - preferably in writing.

Go in with a namby pamby approach and they don't take you seriously.
There is a mountain of legislation that says WE have the rights... its your job to see they abide by them.

What he said  That's why they came very low in the JD Power survey regarding "Customer Service"

What's the problem with your mk3?

I'm just a bit angry about my lumpy idle and even though nothing shows up when plugged in I am still not satisfied. I drove the golf r yesterday with the same engine that was fine. Drove also another 280 yesterday and that was fine but dealership say nothing is showing up so no problem

Ah, that old chestnut.

Same way they wiggle out of fixing my headlights. They've literally had it plugged in while the headlights are pointing in entirely different directions to one another, but because it shows no fault on the computer, as far as Seat are concerned it's not broken! Ten months after it was first reported, and with the fault persistent throughout that time, they still can't fix it.

This is so true. I never believe the 'Factory trained technicians' line spewed by car dealerships. Trained at what factory, where? Unless there's a fault code, or fluid visibly leaking out, good luck. I generally used to speak quite highly about my local Seat dealer, but in the 7 months I had my Mk3 Leon, they changed my mind. They took two attempts to fix the issue with the vanity mirror lights being switched on all the time whenever the blind was lowered even if the sliding door was closed. They scratched the clear plastic on the instruments when attempting to sort that rattle. The final nail in the coffin was when the 'characteristic' word was uttered with regard to a really strange rattling coming from the clutch/transmission side of the engine. They told me it was the same on other cars they had at the dealers. I had already checked this out on other cars so knew it to be rubbish. Needless to say, the car is gone. Never again.
