hi i have got a seat ibiza 1.4 se 1997 with over 100,00 miles lol, i have been looking a getting rid of the 1.4 and putting a 1.8t 20v of the mark 3 ibiza i have seen them come up on ebay aswell as i have looking about, but i i got one with a gearbox, turbo, wiring loom and the rest of that stuff

CAN IT BE DONE

cant see why not = just a matter of changin the cables etc, and making sure you can fit the intercooler in.

You will need the mounts for the 02J gearbox to subframe (x2), a front subframe from anything like a 1.6, 2.0, 1.8T, and an ibiza 1.8T rear engine mount

driveshafts, pedal box, hubs, hub carriers, bigger brakes...

WTF do you want brakes for

1.4 brakes are appauling, you need at least 280's.
itll be cheaper to get an ibiza 20vt when you take in modded insurance, engine, exhaust system, clocks, gearbox, mounts labour, brakes etc.

no they havent got an online section i could get you the tell no if you want its a big company sure they would give you all the info on the cars by email or something they deliver and its in the western auto trader...

Yes the conversion can be done, and has been done several times.

Basically you need to remove everything from the 1.4 and replace it with all the parts from the 1.8.#

So in the end you basically have a 1.4 mk2 shell and interior but with 1.8 mechanicals.

Over rated. . . braking is for pussies

Show's how much you know then. I've stepped up from 1.4 to 2.0 and the difference is definitely required, heavier lump to stop aswell, scarey braking from a ton with standard brakes!

dont get me wrong brake fade is horrendous on all SEATS, both my Leon Cupras were the same and the last 3 Ibizas as well.

Thats how much I know, oh and braking is for pussies. ;-)
