They'll get spanked with the low boosting Tdi, and they'll get spanked with their undeveloped tsi

They should have packed it in

Ive a bad feelin your right. Thay should have done what Citroen done and took a year out to develop a new car (Exeo)

I have been told though that it could be used mid season ;)

I'm amazed VW has let them splash the cash in the current climate - keeping on all those top drivers....

There certainly won't be any money left for development

I dunno, they reckon there developing it so fast that after a while the restricter on the turbo wont even matter.
Anyways, with the new rules if they are slow they'll hav less ballast (I think)
Any1 fully understand the new rules????

Well as far as I know its an average of the fastest and slowest cars on your team.
Correct me if im wrong. I got bored as soon as I started readin it

What affect does the low turbo pressure have on the max. output, if anything? Will it go down from 278bhp?

Also what effect, if anything again, will it have on how the car carries the weight? Because at 1170kg the baseweight is I think the heaviest in touring cars and one that gives up 30kg on the 1140kg BMW 320si's.

There will be a formal announcement regarding the full SEAT Sport WTCC line-up next Tuesday in Spain at a media event. The TDI engine will once again feature in the line up, though in eaxctly how many of the cars is still to be confirmed.

I don't expect us to 'get spanked' this year Mark (!), even if there are some mods made to the engine. I'll hopefully find out a bit more from Jaime Puig next week.

We're starting from a strong position: let's not forget that we hold the Manufacturer Championship and (with Monsieur Muller) the Driver's Championship - the diesel Leon was the dominant car last year in WTCC. Better to go into a season with a proven package than an unproven one, I reckon.

Happy new year, incidentally (is it way, way too late to wish that on the 20th of January?!)

Mike

Consider my wrist slapped :)

I was paraphrasing from a Yvan Muller interview & I think an Alain Menu where they considered the restricted tdi to do less well compared to the 'old' BMW & the 'new' Daewoo

I hope that's not the case of course.

No wrist-slapping intended - I'm just ever the optimist!

I'll let you know what I find out next week.

On another note, you, me and the other Mark ought to hook up soon to talk 2009....

Cheers
M
