Hi all today I fitted my a EGR delete pipe to my 1.9 pd130 leon, but since fitting I have noticed some turbo lag... I noticed on the old egr housing there is a butterfly valve that's has two vacuum pipes going to it. Does anyone know what this is/does

Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers

Hi mate,
In the egr the butterfly is your anti shudder valve. This closes when you turned the ignition off to choke the engine instead of the juddering to a stop you probably get now the egr is gone.

Hope you plugged any vac pipes you disconnected? Otherwise it'll take longer to get enough vac to work the turbo actuator and so create lag.

Yeah I'd get the vacuum pipes blocked if not already, I've found dipping the clutch whilst turning engine off with the egr delete on reduces bit of judder.

Dependant on year your elm light may come on.
