took it for an italian tune up on the way home from work and finally after 5 months the cars decided to present an engine management light so I will have something to go on. Will keep you all posted

Started my car this morning and the EML was still on however went off within 20 seconds of the car moving . The car still felt really sluggish while it was cold but when it warmed up it picked up a bit.

Took it for another Italian tune up down the motorway for 20 minutes (4500RPM at 70mph in 3rd gear). This was an achievement in its own because for a long time i have not been able to get it past 4000rpm in 3rd for a few months due to going into limp mode.

Once I left the motorway, the Car was running the best it has since i bought the car. Makes me think this is more than likely sticky vanes?.

In work till Saturday so will have the code analysed then.

Disconnect the actuator from the vnt lever and work the lever back and forth, if it's a bit tight give it some WD40 and work it some more. If that doesn't work you might want to test the actuator with a vacuum gauge to make sure it isn't knackered. I think you can maybe test the N75 with vagcom but not sure how.

shady, just 'cause you're getting a whistling sound, it doesn't mean that your turbo is ok, as it could have died already - look up "turbo owl tdi" and "turbo siren tdi" on Google, and read some threads - you will see that this noise is quite pronounced, but you don't get any boost.

I have the very same problem. Limp mode when under load, slight chattering noise after turbo spools up and you take foot off the peddle, low power when cold. Mine also judders once sometimes from cold when you first go out on open road. After reading tonnes of posts I eventually had innotec Turbo cleaner put through the turbo and all was fixed for a few weeks but sadly the problem has just returned. I've made sure to give it high revs under load a few times a day (when engine is warm) to try and keep the vanes clean but this hasn't helped. My garage is saying it probably needs a new turbo as the cleaner clearly didn't permanently fix the problem. I've seen a replacement actuator unit for £60 on ebay which would fit the turbo but I'm not sure if this is worth trying or just give in and either get the turbo re-conditioned or just pay for a new one. What to do!!! If the cleaner helped for a few weeks then I guess this is a dirty turbo issue.

Big Daddy, did you have any joy with yours?
