Remap it and be happy with it.

why throw good money after bad, its most likely nearly a 20 year old car now.

if you want a fast car i would save your money and buy a fast car out of the box
Don't get me wrong it's already pretty fast pulling practically 200bhp stock, I'm just a petrol head and love projects :)

hi there, Toledo 20VT AUQ owner in da house :D 180HP

Im currently stock except an axle-back exhaust (ROAR) (3 inches). Is it even worth a complete turbo-back echaust? Just want to stay legal so officers and annual revisions won't cause problems LOL. I might get a full exhaust with metallic 200 cell catalyzer and resonated. Would it sound great? It already does compared to stock exhaust haha my friends drool with my beauty.

Later on I would remap it but I am happy with current horsepower. Except a couple days ago a 2003 Ibiza Cupra owned me XD. (lighter weight and 17" rims vs my big ass and 19 inches heavy-weight alloys).

anyway I value LONGEVITY above all things thats why I didnt even remap my car yet. I have a lead foot LOL.

Its worth getting a full system, i just had a 3" decat DP hooked up to the standard cat back, which sounded nice but subtle, and drove slightly better than standard. Ive just had my 2.5" cat back fitted (stock is ~2") and the difference is very noticeable and im yet to get it mapped. The power at higher revs has been well improved.

Secret to making power is getting air in and out of the engine more efficiently

Stage one remap shouldn't effect longevity if it's a good map and the car is in good condition. Makes a huge diference to the AUQ.

how do you get air IN more efficiently? Seems everybody says stock air filter is the best choice so what else can we do if I can keep the front bumper LOL.

Bigger turbo

No but seriously more air and also colder (denser o² moleculed air) makes more power. The thread here was about exhaust. And having a less restrictive exhaust really makes a difference especially in turbo cars for spool up and breathing
