seat leon mk1 1.8 no check engine light and car doesn`t start

Hi, I drove my leon to the grocery store (it was like 1km and the car was working perfectly). When I was leaving the store the car was not starting. When i was not able to get it running i towed it home. The OBD scanner is not connecting to the ECU, but it`s getting power. when i turn the power on the check engine light is not lightning on.
I have checked all the fuses, wiring, relays, grounds, ECU`s connectors, visual inspection of the ECU from the inside, etc.. everything seems fine.
The car is not getting a spark either.
I think the ECU is broken, but the car was working perfectly earlier?
Can anyone help?

What kind of code reader? I've had the cheap ones fail like that. Replacement worked fine.

It is a cheap one, but i tested it on a another car and it works fine
