Evening all.

Having a few issues with my 2001 Cupra.

It has a high idle issue. 1100rpm when warm. Normal idle characteristics when warm. ie 1500 or so rpm then drops down after a short while. Engine check light is on.

But the 1100rpm issue is still there. Turning on the Aircon cuts it down to a normal speed.

Gauge seems fine, gets up to temp. However, how is this fed? Two connection points within the CTS one for ECU and one Gauge? Or is it daisy chained through the ECU. The high idle issue could be due to the CTS. But the effect the air con has on it baffles me!

Ive got an electrical issue in the rear nearside door. I have another door ill be popping on for that.

Also have a front wheel bearing going (Front drivers I suspect). I don't have access to a press for the moment. Also i`m 5+ miles from my local garage and given this is my only car nipping down there might be an issue.

I know these cars had the same hub carriers, hubs and bearings as other cars. But could you give me a list of them.

I'm thinking mk4 golf gti, mk 4 golf gti r32 and mk1 tt. But what about the normal non cupra leon?

Other then these issues. Its happily done 8k in the 3 months Ive had it. Its been doing just over 40mpg on the long trips Iv`e been doing so doesn't seem to be using more fuel then it should. Tbh given the car I'm really impressed by that figure.

Cheers

Aircon takes a lot of load so ruduces revs

Id change the cts as matter of course

It has 2 parts to it, so dash can display fine whereas ecu has no idea of temp so as if on cold start / choke the whole time

I suspected as much. Cheers for the input pal.

Anyone able to shed some light on the hub carrier question?
