Mine currently is sat at 223bhp 345ftlb from stage 1 still with DPF, the rollers at Ecotune are usually pretty spot on so I've been told expected to see around 235bhp with DPF mapped out. Very smooth torque and power graph I have too. What are the advantages of doing the EGR?

Advantages are not having the hot dirty exhaust gas re entering the engine, you want as much cold air as possible. Yes these can be pushed to 230+ a few, the more it's pushed the more black smoke there will be from the rear, at a healthy 220 there isn't really any

cheers for the info buddy! I have no smoke at the moment, I've just ordered the same filter you have. Possibly look into DPF delete after I come back from Dubai, that is kind of taking priority at the moment lol. What do you think of the DSG remap?

Finally received my fathers day present 'Triple R Front splitter. suprised by the quality. Just need to find the time to fit it. hopefully next week. They also need to hurry up and sort the defect problem out on the rear defuser so i can get one. apparent a couple of month

Before everybody gets excited, it's important to remember that DPF removal on cars fitted with one as standard is an automatic MOT failure:

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-rules-for-mot-to-test-for-diesel-particulate-filter

From the Government - "Some firms offer services to remove the filter, claiming it will improve the economy. But it is an offence to drive a vehicle that has been modified this way, as it will no longer meet the emissions standards the car achieved when it was approved for sale in the UK."

Sorry to be a party pooper but you should consider that - the law is the law. So unless you know a dodgy MOT tester you're going to be out of luck. Furthermore, if you come to sell your car and you don't tell the new owner about your DPF removal and they get a shock at the MOT station, you can expect a 'friendly' visit from them :p.

Lastly, the cost to have a DPF re-installed is far greater than the cost of removal. It's just not worth it.

Sorry but it is far worth it and why post a worthless post, it has to be visually there which it is :) we also offer a stage the advanced chemical clean for those who want to keep it ;) and as for price, you maybe surprised, thanks for your crap post anyway,

It's just like a petrol running a decay apart from it won't fail emissions like a cat as its diesel and done on a smoke test which passes

I don't think it's worthless educating members of this forum about the legalities surrounding DPF removal. It is illegal and it will lead to MOT failure.

There's no ifs and no buts with regard to this. Whether you delete the software so the DPF doesn't function, tank out the internals of the DPF and weld it back up or otherwise stop it from working, you are still running the risk of MOT failure.

And with regard to my post being 'crap', how silly. You're blatantly advertising your DPF removal services here without actually hard selling. If you think it's 'crap' to tell people considering DPF removal that it has a LEGAL DOWNSIDE you're a fool.

Not really any different from an EGR delete to be honest, you delete the EGR and the exhaust gas comes out of the exhaust rather than re entering the engine, everyone don't do an EGR delete because you harming the environment and effects the emissions. :) personal preference pal. Like I say I offer to clean them just as much as delete them, but if it's performance you after its worth doing, just like a decay or 3" Down pipe on a petrol for example :)

Look mate, I respect your opinion, and I do actually agree that EGR valve removal is a good thing :).

But the fact remains that DPF removal is very risky with regards to the MOT. I have three friends who have failed their MOT because they had their DPF removed (2 had it physically removed and the shell put back in, and 1 had the software mapped out). MOT testers aren't stupid and like I said it's costly to have a new DPF installed to get a car MOT compliant.

That's all I was saying. People should know the risk before they do it. It's up to them whether or not they have their DPF removed/ deleted. Personally, I would keep the DPF, or downgrade to an older PD diesel engine. Or get a petrol if the mileage suited.

You should never run software with a DPF off and the unit in tact, can be dangerous, also this is my build thread and not an advertisement,

In other news APR are now offering a replacement decat pipe for the Audi B8 B8.5 so maybe you want to head over to APR and tell them the same :)

Do you know what sort of performance id get from running a remap with the DPF still there? I do 80 miles a day so I'm not worried about the DPF clogging up as it gets a good run daily.

Post some pics of the splitter once it's fitted. Looks mint on candy white

remap would equal abit more black going down the dpf to speed the process up. its not as bad as the early PPD engines though which suffer really bad. should see 200-205BHP

Splitter fitted

So you reckon I'd be alright with leaving the DPF there? I've heard that they get clogged up pretty bad if your not giving the car a good run. Which wouldn't be a problem for me. And is your remap written for your car or is it just a standard map flashed to your ECU?

Splitter looks mint

Thanks, written for the car to what I want, it's Russian roulette mate to be honest and even an extra risk running a map with it already in as if the extra fueling' if you wanting the performance it flows a lot better without it in
