Just been to the stealers to get my air con high pressure switch re newed only to be told that my rear passenger side coil spring is broken and they quoted £200 and I seem to think if i need to spend that rather put it to a set of lowering springs or coil overs if there is a set that doesn't require remortgageing my house

Also anyone know if replacing spring is hard or is a pro needed?

i dont think its too har more a case of needing the right bit of kit to do the job safely ie the spring compressor thingy.

£220 does sound a bit steep but its probably 1-2 hours labour plus parts.

Do a search for the eibach kits on here loads of people have got them either sportlines or pro kit if i remeber correctly.

Rear spring takes about 30 seconds to change. No spring compressor needed.

Just jack the car up, undo one bolt - spring falls out, place new spring in, lift wishbone thing and pop the bolt back in. Dont even need to take the wheel off.....

Nice one sounds simple enough what about the front springs abit more tricky??

Seen a set of eibach all round springs for 150 on eBay so might just change the lot?

Front springs need the wiper and scuttle panel removed, again no compressor was needed. I did have an airgun but the rears would take a minute with a rachet.

And I swapped mines for eibach sportlines. :)

Niceone wouldn't mind a set and for £150 on eBay hmmm decisions did it lower it alot as my last motor was dropped. To the ground and used to annoy me with speed bumps etc??

I'm considering the sportline kit for mine but i don't want to affect the ride too much because it's not great to start with.

How much stiffer is the sportline kit?

I've considered the pro kit aswell but it doesn't seem to drop the car enough but i don't want problems with speedbumps because the misses will just moan at me but i want it to look lowered.

Has anyone fitted KW or Weitec springs to their FR or Cupra?

I was sure I spotted a leon tucked up your drive last week ;)

I was up at the cemetary and the leon was fine over the big bumps outside yer house. :).

Sportline kit aint actually much stiffer tbh. Only time my leon scrapes is down fishers road in port seton with 5 up. :funk:

Ah, are you azzle from svag? I think i did read somewhere that you had a leon.

I think i seen you going past the other day but i didn't realise it was you or that your car was lowered.

If you ever go past when i'm floating about outside stop and i'll we'll have a wee chat and i'll get a look at your car.
